Stormy was inspired by a font used often by the Sioux Falls Storm (working on it's Tenth National Indoor Football League Championship). This one is not based on their logo, but the font and numbers used on some of the jerseys the team wears.

Crap. I updated it and now this one doesn't install.  First time downloading it and trying, though.

The/a problem is to do with very high codepoints. The FontStructor allows you to use the codepoint 65535 (as you have here) which I don’t think is valid. So it’s a bug there. Try deleting or moving the glyph at 65535.

Comment by Rob Meek (meek) 9th february 2017

OK, @meek, I would like to do what you say, but I have no idea what it is you are actually saying.  What's a codepoint?  I believe you are talking about the glyph in a numbered character register?  But I think the glyphs in FontStruct are hexidecimal, and divided into all those different character sets, so I have no idea where to look for it.

But, thank you for checvking this out for me.

Comment by SymbioticDesign 9th february 2017

Ah sorry! I mean FFFF in the “Specials” character set. It shouldn’t be there.

Comment by Rob Meek (meek) 9th february 2017

Nope, that didn't work.  I moved the one you said out of there and put it in the next up.  Then saved it, downloaded it, unzipped it and tried to install it, but no good.  So then, I moved the other two I had in Specials. Still no good.

But, this is where I always put my logos, I always do 2 or 3 versions with one taking the replacement character and the next two key registers after that.  It has never been a problem before.

I dunno.

Comment by SymbioticDesign 9th february 2017

Ok. I'll look again as soon as possible.

Comment by Rob Meek (meek) 9th february 2017

And this is the other one that won't install.

If I add some accents and punctuation below the baseline, will my font's line height increase automagically as it requires the room for those characters?

Comment by SymbioticDesign 27th april 2018

Yes. It's sometimes good, sometimes not. The only workaround I know of is to set your text editor/graphics software/whatever to have a negative line spacing.

OK, cool.  Thanks, @zephram!

Last night my son and I went to see our favorite IFL football team, the Sioux Falls Storm, host the current #1 team.  They were in our conference last year, but we emerged victorious with the United Conference title.  That said, although we beat them in Iowa early in the season, the Barnstormers defeated us on our own turf only a few short weeks ago.

The Iowa Branstormers have managed to sweep the Arizona Rattlers with 3 wins, and the Rattlers defeated the Storm last year to take the United Bowl trophy away from us.

We had previously owned the IFL Championship trophy for the 6 years before Arizona came into the league.  In fact, the Rattlers have beaten us twice this season.

When the Barnstormers finished their sweep over the rattlers last week. The Branstormers have climed to the top of the IFL with a 10-3 Win-Loss record.  All three of the top teams in the IFL have similar W-L records.  The Branstormers are 10-2.  The Rattlers are 10-3.  And the Sioux Falls Storm is currently at 9-3.  A Sioux Falls win against Iowa would tie all the top three teams with the same Win-Loss record, since Arizona is on a bye week.

The game was close throughout the first half, the Barnstormers were always a point or two behind.  But, Storm QB Brown was intercepted in the end zone that gave Iowa a leg up on us, and we were trailing by a touchdown at the half.

In the 3rd Q, things started falling apart at the seams, and the Storm found themselves trailing by 18 points.  Powell, the kick returner, had been running backwards and wound-up getting tackled in the end zone for a Safety.

I was getting uneasy because Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs (the winningest coach in Indoor Football) wasn't putting in the backup QB, though I admit, I wasn't calling for him.  But we have watched 2 losses at home this season when Brown let things get away from him.  He doesn't seem as accurate as he once was.

But then, the Barnstormers pulled the same stunt, the ball carrier did an end-around through their end zone and got caught.  So we got 2 points from the second safety and Iowa the ball back to us.

We scored and topped that off with a 2 point conversion in the 4th Quarter.  Now only 8 points behind, the Storm Shelter finally awoke and became the legendary noise circus everyone knows it to be.  With a rousing, rowdy Storm Nation thundering support behind them, the Defense managed to hold and the Iowa field goal attempt missed, giving the team great hope with only about a minute left.

The Sioux Falls Storm answered rather quickly and answered the TD score with the necessary 2 point conversion with a pass play.  At 49-49 all, the Storm had to hold off the very capable Barnstormer offense under the leadership of Head Coach Dixie Wooten and hard charger, QB Powell (a different Powell, btw).

With just 5 seconds left on the game clock and on fouth down, the Iowa Barnstormers went for a long field goal to put the game away.  I remember thinking we were headed to overtime because their kicker will probably miss, as he had done from closer distances.  But as the kick went off, it was blocked by the Storm and tumbled through the air backward.  There was a race to the ball, and the Storm recovered it in the Barnstormer's end zone for the third, final and winning Safety of the game!

Storm 51 - Branstormers 49

WhattaGame!

Anyways, in light of that wonderful victory, with all 3 of the top IFL teams at 10 wins & 3 losses, and with the secondary purpose to lend any moral support to Stormy Daniels in her quest to extract justice from a very guilty-acting President Trump (who seemingly is an idiot that does not care who he hurts while Congress sits with their thumbs up their asses spinning and otherwise doing absolutely not one thing we put them in office for).

I dusted this off and added a very, very low line in the Specials section in order to offset the extremely small line height and/or leading that this font has suffered under the new editor (this is apparently a 2x2 brick bug).

However, I will give this font an SIL Open Font License once that bug is fixed.  I just don't want the font going out with the right leading (the space between character lines).

GO STORM!
