ookii--shadowed.

It looks quite simple, and in the end, it was, though getting to the end was anything but. This font appears as a clone of ookii because that's where I started it, thinking I'll just add the shadows. Getting the shadows to look natural and line up properly in every character was a geometric challenge. I ended up redrawing the whole thing three times over--in incremental step up of scale before getting it right. I love doing fonts like this one.

futuristic and stylish. is there a reason you chose pixel lines over straight diagonals? great achievement anyway.

Very cool. Is that the Chinese character for big?
Comment by Stelios Constantinides (sconstantinides) 21st march 2009
Oh my goodness...love the shadows.

And, that pointy Q...yum.
Comment by aphoria 21st march 2009
Thanks, all.

@saberrider: To get the shadow lines as fine as they are now in straight diagonals, the font would have had to be four times as large. That would have been too many bricks and scrolling all over the place. I don't have that much patience. Plus, I like pixels. :)

@emepar7: Chinese...yes, probably. But my intention was Japanese. But since all Japanese kanji is *ahem* borrowed from Chinese hanzi, it is probably Chinese as well. It is pronounced O-key (doesn't rhyme with kooki). The two O signify a long O sound. The long O is also written with a Ō. Ōkii. And yes, it does mean big. この フォント は 大きい で ない。 Kono fonto wa ōkii de nai. (This font is not big).

It would not really take too much room if you used triangle bricks like I did in Model.
Comment by NoahL 22nd march 2009
2½ times larger, actually.

Thank you, all, again. I like the pointy Q too.

While waiting for this fonts-not-downloading thing to get resolved, I went back and re-shared a whole bunch of my non-TopPick fonts. Take a look:

Thank you.

This was done using a very early version of FontStructor. I think an update is in order.
