Nice! Also, Is it just me or is the T slightly taller than the other letters?
It was, thank you for noticing!
All of the letters should now all have the same uniform height
I like the 6 a lot, so weird, lovely
Cool art deco/Broadway vibes. Very minimal and consistent. Sweet, I love it.
A couple points of critique - because I care:
- have you thought about making the "S" circular? It's optically a bit unexpected and thus a little illegible that it's pretty much a flipped "Z" and I see no design constraints to not have it circular.
- I think "M" and "W" would benefit from having only one of their stems thick.
- my guess is that "B" has its smaller bowl on the bottom to make it more consistent with "E" and "H" - I don't think it's ideal.
- I'd tighten the spacing by at least 1/4.
- "Q" is absolutely gorgeous.
Yes, the nubmers. They're a bit unfortunate in my opinion, but that's maybe due to working with a small grid. Although smaller - 1 brick high - circles (with same weight) could prove useful. Or .5 brick high quarter corners, using the standard mac & cheese corners.
And even if you deliberately went for that sharp top and bottom look for the "S" and numbers, to me they look a bit forced compared to the overall form of the typeface. But DON'T change the "8". It's perfect.
I've attached an image to explain my points, some suggestions etc. It's NOT a screenshot from FontStruct, it's straight out of Adobe Illustrator, so may not be entirely doable in FS.
Of course - you have all the right to disagree and I respect that. Those are just suggestions or how I would improve it. It's your vision and ultimately your font.
It's still great as it is!
Thank you for your critique and glyph sample! I tried some of the techniques included in the sample, and while some of the designs did not transfer as well into fontstruct as I would have hoped, reducing the W and M looks noticeably better, those adjustments have been made (a new sameple is included below). Thanks for the input!
This is great. I agree with @Neoqueto on the spacing.
@meek, thank you for the comment, the spacing has been adjusted. Please let me know of any thoughts you may have, the input is greatly appreciated!
@meek, thank you very much for the top pick!
