A real beauty. Congrats, Maestro.
Excellent typedesign! Fodo, Chapeau!
I'm curious about the lowercase letters - maby - if they are in the works for another version?
@beate: Thank you. This is capitals only. At this weight, there is no room for a small "s".
They always used capital letters on 1920s Russian propaganda posters.
Russian text sample. (It's a random sample from Wikipedia.)
Ok, anyway, it's a great job
Wonderful samples, Maestro!
Super vision; flawless glyphs construction. Excellent.
What a perfect stencil font, the playful placement of bridges steering it away from becoming rigid.
cool font. i like that you added cyrillic letters.
Which ignoramus gave a point here? How stupid can you be...?
Is this just defiance or ignorance - or just envy?
* 1 Point
Basically envy, dear beate. I can't see another reason. Hours and hours stolen from family, friends and sleep (as is my case) to receive a 1 ... I find no other meaning than envy, sorry.
Exactly, Elmo, I mean, it mostly applies to TopPicks
Probably jelousy, I wouldn't understand how someone could be jelous over a font enough to give it a bad rating.
My Dear Friends,
I noticed this troll activity today and it nearly ruined my day. I wasn't sure whether to say something about it or just let it go. Thank you for expressing your strong opinion and condemning that spineless coward who attempted to spoil our celebration of beautiful letters. I know many other members are affected too. If that is any consolation, troll votes on top-rated works became so common that it's kind of a badge of honour now. Mediocre designs seldom get this treatment. Welcome everybody to this prestigious club!
The advent of social media and free speech gave rise to trolls whose only way of self-expression is being a nuisance. And we all enjoy the benefits of both (social media and free speech). Some sort of parasites are inevitable in complex systems even in the digital world. My Fellow Fontstructors, just get over it. To pesky trolls: may the god of fonts obliterate your dim consciousness.
one of my entries was given a one too, wonder who's doing it.
The way the ratings have been abused over the years has been disturbing throughout. This is why I stopped paying attention to the ratings a long time ago. However, if it comes to my attention by chance, it is disturbing all over again.
To be clear, a font of mine may very well be deserving of poor rating, but the poor rating should be accompanied with a comment saying what is wrong with it so that it may be corrected. However, as elmoyenique said, it is probably envy that makes someone give a poor rating. Which is sad in different ways for both the giver and receiver.
I have a proposal for revamped rating system. For every rating of 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10, give that font 1 Like. Discard every rating of 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5. If there is no negative, no fs can be envy-based degraded. Even YouTube is considering hiding Dislike count.
Or - even simpler - what if the star-rating system was discarded and the Favorite button remained as the main way to show admiration? I always felt weird about giving a piece of art a 1-10 rating...
If I like a font, I always give it a 10. If I like it a lot, then I add the heart of favorites. Sometimes, if I see something to improve and comment on it, I mark the font with 9. In other cases, I just don't rate it. Like many of us, I'm not here to give anyone a bad time.
I don’t rate anything at all lol
Same thing happened to me…
In my opinion, rating is not that important. Yes, sometimes I rate fonts, using the upper half of the 1-10 scheme. Of course there are fonts I dislike but I do not want to waste my time at them so I just ignore them (better for their publishers because if you get, say, 2/10 you might ask yourself questions, especially if there is no comment to explain that decision).
I am sure that favorite count and downloads can tell you a lot more about how popular/well done your fontstruction actually is than ratings do. Because, let me guess, everyone interprets the rating in a different way.
i support m_cm's idea
Hello, I would like to have this font if possible?
Hello again, I would like to have this font, is it possible?
@-krikritok2003- — It says above the comment box:

@Rob Meek: Thank you very much for the special mention. Much appreciated.
@Everybody: Thank you for your supporting comments and generous ratings.
Congratulations, Maestro!
Frodo, Congratulations on the TP.
I'm sorry for what I said in comment.
Otherwise, (I am French). And I translate by Google Translate.
Otherwise OK @ImmaPooh
How did you do the angles?
@DarkGuy572 Most likely custom bricks.
@DarkGuy572: The angles were made with composite bricks. You don't have to start from scratch and recreate them again. They are here available along with a nice tutorial:
https://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/334291/all-composites-saved-in-my-bricks-3-0
Before starting a project it is very important to consider what we have got (in terms of composite bricks for different angles and "curves" of different radii). That could determine the outcome of the font project. The same as with cooking a dish: you need the right ingredients. Without one crucial "ingredient" you can't start the project as you imagined.
Thus, I enlisted all the different angles supported by composite bricks and selected one or two polygonal "curves" of the right size which give the smoothest circles.
The small overshoot of rounded letters can be taken care of by the Nudge function.
One of the best - if not THE best - stencil font on FS, flawless. I love the specimens.
@laynecom: Thank you for your comment. Yes, it seems to be a good stencil font, but far from flawless. In fact, Frunze Stencil could be a model to demonstrate the need for optical corrections. Although the vertical and horizontal gaps have the same width, the latter looks slightly wider (see letter A). I also took great care to approximate the same width in case of the oblique gaps. They look OK. At this point, modular fonts have reached their limits.

The new edition of a classic...
Nice mockup, dear Maestro. And what say the cover, for the people who don't read cyrillic?
The title says Special Military Operations and Peace; Since the Russian authorities are in total denial about what's going on in Ukraine, they banned the use of such words referring to war and invasion, I imagined how Leo Tolstoy's monumental work War and Peace would have looked like in a 2022 Russian edition.
Thanks a lot. I'm with you.
I only ask for "$". 10/10 + favorite
And an alternate "Q"...
@minimum (comment of 16/4/21)
youtube did hide it, and it become the worst thing of youtube, like the new ui.
Even Russian! WOW!
Nice!
