This collection of weird shapes is the fill font for Punched Out, so you can easily make your own custom made design on the letters. This can look pretty cool I'm sure...

The lowercase are if you really just wanna fill the front of your letter, the uppercase are for all visible surfaces.

For the frontside-only numbers:
US/UK keyboard: just use shift + number.
Swiss keyboard (ok, this is selfish, haha): just use alt + numbers
for any other keyboards:
1 = ! or ±
2 = @ or "
3 = # or £
4 = $ or Ç
5 = % or [
6 = ^ or ]
7 = & or |
8 = * or {
9 = ( or }
0 = ) or ≠

Here's how it works:
(I'm sorry this isn't another real life sample... I just don't have the time for it right now.) (You could ask now how I have the time to fontstruct then, but then I'd only sigh and start wondering what's ever gonna become of me.)

Very impressive demo. You carefully planned for the potential applications.
It would be nice to have a set of these letters printed on cardboard, different colour patterns on them, and give them to primary school kids. While playing with scissor, glue and papercraft, they would learn the alphabet, touch and feel the body and voids of each letter and sign. Furthermore, it would greatly improve their vision and concept of 3D space. Well, it's just an idea.

Yeah, I've thought about if this wasn't more supposed to be for kids too when I was cutting and gluing to get the real life sample together too, hehe... But seriously, this would definitely be a nice application of this. Stimulates a lot of different abilities. (At least designing the thing felt like it reactivated brain regions I haven't used in a while.)
The shapes of the letters could be a little problem though... I don't think you want your kids to get a pixelated view of the world already when they're learning the ABC. ;)

Just added the front-only fill for numbers. On US/UK keyboards, you'll just have to use shift + number, on Swiss keyboards alt + numbers, and for any other keyboard layout, you'll find the respective signs in the description!

this is a really cool idea, making letters in 3D out of paper! how do you fill? do you have to use a program like illustrator or indesign? can you do this with word?
