This work is based on M.C. Escher's woven ribbon motifs, 1938, 1942. He's made wooden stamps for the basic motifs, and rotated and combined them to create fantastic woven fabric patterns. I've simply taken his idea a step further using combinatorics. Please note, this is a Fontstruct rendering, and as such may differ from the original.

I never really expected this project to be so time consuming. It is still a work in progress, but you can see where is it going.

Special thanks to Rob Meek, and his fantastic Fontstructor 2.0. With so many brick stacking in every glyph, the new feature has been a real time saver. Life is too short.

WOW. Your innovations continue. Where would the world be without obsession? Certainly a more ugly place. Thanks for making and sharing this. I can't wait to download and play. 10/10

Congrats! You're always one step ahead of the rest. I also admire the work of MCE.

Thank you all for your comments and generous votes. Your great feedback keeps me going.

@fugitiveglue: I've completed all the 18 patterns. Now they're ready for download. These "glyphs" were designed to make seamless infinite patterns when tiled together.

p2pnut: Thank you for your comment and faithful support. It never stops to amaze me that one of the greatest FS designers actually stops by to write something complimentary. Thank you.

@elmoyenique: Thank you for your kind words. As I said before, you came and lifted up my spirit at the right moment. I think I'll go out again on this lovely afternoon to drink the breeze and sunshine, and perhaps create something special.

@afrojet: Thank you very much for the special mention. Top Pick is like a seal of approval for many of us. You've been very supportive throughout the (spring) season, and it encouraged me to create a series of good works, that otherwise could have been abandoned. Thank you.

Special thanks to Rob Meek. I know, I repeat myself, but it's so important, even saying twice is not enough: you've done a great job, the new features are fantastic. Thank you. We are not worthy...

this is an incredible tribute and a great technical achievement. the beauty is in its simplicity, yet it is anything but simple :) your patience is to be admired, but not as much as your talent. your mastery of Fontstruct is complete, but i know Frodo will continue to challenge himself and us, much to my great joy.

@mhal: I wonder, what was so important to create a new account for a single comment, to tell me this. (??!!) If I had so little understanding about what's going on here, I would have taken great care not to disclose it.
