Did the world need another low-res typeface? I don't know but I did it anyway. Originally, I only needed a few letters and I planned this to be just a pixel-style design. I only intended to use it as a display font at larger sizes. But as I worked on it, I got inspired to make it hold up at smaller sizes, too.
I wanted to be very minimal but still infuse it with a little more life than a lot of (low-res) sans serifs. Corners were rounded where possible, and I tried to invoke some old style characteristics like the looped g and bent lower-case t. I also like the variation in the x-height; some are 5px reaching above the waistline, but most are only 4px. I could have made them all 5, but this creates some more interesting word shapes.
It's lower-case only at this point; upper-case is on its way. Hopefully non-lining numerals and more punctuation, too.
The name is a play on words that relates to the 8-pixel cap-height.
