Well... I don't mean to be a party pooper (this is great), but the competition is only for partial submissions--no full character sets. So, no hard feelings.
If you want to make it qualify, just delete a few characters to make it qualify.

I like it a lot, but again, make sure you delete some of the characters so you can't write it as a full alphabet.

@xenophilius: I think you are misinterpreting the “no alphabets” rule. Pretty sure it means “no latin-reading letters”. Marker Marker could still work as a code font, yes, but I don’t believe that breaks the rules!

@Tomo: You may want to fix your tags, however. Add commas between each of the tags, or at least after the “Illucomp” tag so that it is searchable and properly qualifies for the comp! :)

p.s. “no latin- (or otherwise-) reading characters”. To quote the rules:
...no letters from real or imaginary writing systems...
Interesting point, though, because anything visual could be interpreted as a code and, as such, as a writing system when sequenced in a particular way.

This fontstruction DOES not contain letters. It just uses the uppercase and lowercase letters as means of imputing the symbols in. I didn't project it as a code font, i projected it for usage like Webdings and Windings font families.

@Tomo: I think it’s clear that you made a great and useful illustrative fontstruction. I imagine one could make really cool patterns with the geometries, here.

Marker Marker could still be used as a code font, but i think that speaks more to the nature of glyphs than to your intention.

I agree, actually. I didn't think of it as a dingbat font.

Perhaps it still will make it into the competition.
