Making the pixel font classy My most characters ever? For the record, Cryllic is virtually impossible in a 3x5 monospaced environment.

Cool. But this is 3x7, and with the descenders it increases the grid even more.

Some of the letters are fuzzy at pixel view. A pixel font should look razor sharp on the screen, that's the point of using them. Try to modify the fuzzy letters: use only whole square bricks with no filters.

I learned more about the problem. The glyphs are fine, but the spacing was a fraction, not integer. For pixel fonts, the spacing value should be an integer. In case of dm Xu: 4 is perfect. Otherwise the font pixels won't fall on whole screen pixels, and consequently become fuzzy.

10/10 Awesome.

The r is cool, it looks strange but is completely recognizable as an r.

@Frodo7 Well that explains a lot I see in font previews.

I just noticed the sample isn't completely monospaced... or something. The letters don't exactly line up all the time.

I made a clone and I'm adding stuff lol

Also fixed the width problem, and your pound sign is a width of 4.

And the font's height is really 12, counting all the descenders and accents and stuff.

@demonics - Ugliness in standard pixel fonts? I, sir, am offended! :^) :^) :^)

Wow, a lot happens when I leave FS for 12 hrs :-)
Thanks so much for your support, guys:

@AFT // 3x5 is based upon the x-height. But thanks!

@Frodo7 // Thanks for getting so involved over a simple pixel font. I'll change the spacing when I get a chance.

@umbreon126 // Thanks! The sample was justified spacing, not left-aligned, because left-aligned didn't look so good in the tight rectangle. Pound sign: this £ or this # ? This £ I couldn't figure out an alternative for so it extended into another character but the width is still 3. Thanks for caring! :-)

@goatmeal // I wanted to spark some life into pixel fonts :-)

@redux // I was partially inspired by your gallery. It's cool. I was also inspired by the font that FontStruct uses for the FontStructor (I believe it is Officina Serif) at pixel size.

Thanks @everyone for your support !

Thanks Frodo7 !

Nice one, demonix! The "ugliness" of this pixels is the cool side of this font. While can't be used well in small size, it can be used beautifully in medium - big size!
