Really excellent controlled forms. The only one's I'm not totally convinced by are the X & Y. I realise it's easy said than done, but have you thought of making them slightly wider? They look a bit condensed when compared to the U & V.
Comment by djnippa 19th august 2012
Nice work. Djnippa has good suggestions for the X and Y.
Comment by aphoria 19th august 2012
Great, I could imagine that following through the style would work for an lc as well!
Comment by four 19th august 2012
It looks as though it has been created using a large felt-tip pen - a great effect! 10/10

I was intrigued to see what could be done with the X & Y - as I don't normally work with 2:2 filters. Below is my offering (hope you don't think me too presumptious) ...

@upixel, djnippa, aphoria, four, p2pnut // Thanks for your input, everyone. Extra thanks to Nippa and p2p for the suggestions!

@will.i.om // I hope this isn't too intrusive on your fs Kronos style; I couldn't resist :-)

I like very much the background of the sample, like spanish arabesques, but I don't understand the reference to the islamic religion ("Medina") and the map... What is the purpouse, please?
Comment by elmoyenique 22nd august 2012
@Elmoyenique // Medina is a city in Saudi Arabia, which is what the map pictures.

Love your arabic style! Very original and doesn't too Kronos-ed, though. Hope to see lc is coming :)

Wow, unbelievably clean with those amazingly complex arrangement of (not so many) modular shapes! Jaw-dropping stuff...

----

Ok so, where's dm Medina now...
Comment by cablecomputer 22nd september 2013
cablecomputer — wow, thank you so much! i really appreciate it.

so here's the bad news: this is dm medina. i thought i was working on a clone, and i had removed the serifs from letters a through f, when i realized that i had been taking apart the original font!

i had to make a choice: ctrl+z everything i had done and get dm medina back, or just finish it. i liked this one better, so i just went and changed the entire dm medina to sans.

it sucks, yes. but at least i think this one is better than dm medina. :-)

Pity you lost Medina, but Mecca works really well!

sarreyn, four — thank you both. :-)

Can I publish a font based on this font (A clone but as a transitional serif)? See below.
