Well, yeah, it is Aroth connected, but I made it without cloning Aroth for some unknown reason :). Why Aroth? I think it has some fresh shapes not always seen on FS. I've been trying to connect glyphs of Aroth since competition's announcement, but failed so many times. Today I somehow achieved it, and maybe this entry won't count since it was based on a previous work, but anyway, it's not entirely about the competition.
For me, this comp's theme is much more difficult and complex than the previous stencil theme.
There are some fancier versions of b,h,k on numbers, temporarily.
I didn't realize the arabic feel until you eagle-eye guys noticed it :). Thank you!

@elmoyenique: I remember going through all your fonts back when I was a newbie here. You works are very inspirational.
@winty5: That's nice of you, but I'm no genius, just a regular with maybe more "spare time" than others :).
@architaraz: I agree, it looks perfectly and really shows off this great font!
I hope you learn some good font design tips in that book.
@cablecomputer: Archie? Cool! I'm fine with that :)
@winty:
The book is concentrated mostly on Text type, which I know nothing about, so, it's a great book for me.
Yes, I've been trying out some font editing software, and since the release of font creator pro 7 with major updates, friendly user face and a price tag, I decided to go for it. I will try to upload finished fonts to myfonts.com, if they, of course, accept them, and will notify all you fontstructers if this miracle happens.
Glyhs? I never was a Mac user, so... But you're a child, you can use it and ask your parents (grandparents) to buy it for you, I'm sure it's a lot cheaper than Mac Book or an iPhone ;)
BTW, Good luck with MyFonts. I hope you can get a lot of money, Archie! If MyFonts doesn't let you in, you can put your fonts on Dafont too, at least that's what I did when MyFonts rejected me.
also congrats on your purchase of fontcreator. i have trialed it in the past and will probably purchase the new version soon. i found it very easy to use as far as editing fontstruct generated ttfs and kerning. never tried to create a font using it, but have experimented with other methods.
oh, and i don't think you will have any problems getting your work on myfonts. it's just some paperwork and procedures to go through. good luck and keep up the great work.
How ironic, today I've received e-mail confirmation from MyFonts! They've accepted my font Argyn (I've decided to start with it, it was a bit easier to edit), and I'm currently in the process of filling and signing contracts. So, you my friends will hopefully witness most of my fonts transforming into a more or less completed work there in coming excited times. I'll upload some samples to Argyn's page, and maybe Behance.
Thanks again for the support!
So – go for it, Archi! You’ve got a distinct and soulful voice in your work. I admire the steps you are taking now to raise your profile and to get your fonts out into the world beyond fs and the free font scene.
Perhaps sitting with this admiration will help to thaw the internal blocks obstructing my own path toward professional legitimacy. Lord knows (and others, too – you know who you are) I’ve had ample support and encouragement to launch myself, to sail forth in that general direction...
I'm sure Rob et al are busy enough with their day jobs as well as continually maintaining and developing FS. I wonder if there is any mileage in FontShop creating an outlet - with profits shared between them, FontStruct and the font author. Just a thought.
I hope you make LOTS of money!
If I ever get to that stage where I could have anything good enough to "sell", my first and only choice would be FontShop.
@winty5: Thanks but, nah, I doubt that freelance "designers" like us can make a lot, I'll be satisfied if I'll be able to pull money worth one t-shirt/month :) It's actually about finishing what I've started and also what will.i.ૐ says: "to get your fonts out into the world beyond fs...".
@p2pnut: Thanks! And you're right, they do have really supportive personnel, just like here.
@thalamic: Err, Fontshop... I thought they accept fonts ONLY from professional, real registered foundries like Monotype, Linotype etc. But MyFonts doesn't prohibit selling through other retailers, just have to put the same price tag, so...
I really dunno what to say.
It would be enlightening to know why they wouldn't.
I'm sorry anyway.

This is awesome

HOW did you do those epic curves?
Decent idea! G, q, z - are of my favorite shapes :)
Wanna see my new font once it gets published?
How did you make those custom bricks?
"islands appear when forming a word" I typed the word "off" and don't see any islands.
@kassymkulov
Why- why did you change your name?
@AFontAbove
I didn't, I changed my username, which is my surname, domain name and which I use a lot. Architaraz is a combination of Architect & Taraz, but I'm not architect anymore and I don't live in Taraz so have to let it go. But thanks for reminding me, I registered another account witht the username architaraz so that no one here impersonates me.
