Hi my name is Daniel Abreu, I was born in Portugal in 1992. My journey in design and art actually began with my first job in a print shop, I learned quite a lot there, but it was not what I wanted to do, so I quit the job and got into a design school, now i'm working as a designer. I love typography and photomanips, however what I really love is to learn, to see my skills improve with every work I do.

After choosing the theme asymmetric my thoughts went straight to the face of odin, because of the eyepatch, and since odin was the one that gave the germanic tribes their characters (according to the mythology) the idea of basing this font on ancient norse runes was born. I really wanted that feel of rough, stone carved feel, straight lines were a priority, plus I really wanted to give it the sensation of eroded and old. The name futhark comes from the first six letter of the runic alphabet.

The original plan was to make a font based on ancient runes, and I did that here, http://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/1067592, howver before I finished that one I wanted a font that was based on ancient runes but that at the same time looked modern, It was with that in mind that this font came into existence.
Straight lines and sharp angles define the shapes. The double lines one the left are present with the theme in mind, asymmetry.
