Renee Meyer Ernst was born in Busan, South Korea and adopted to the United States at the age of three months. Influenced by experiences as an adoptee, Renee’s personal work explores notions of forming and expressing identity within cross-cultural contexts.
Renee completed a BA in Studio Art from the University of Northern Iowa and an MFA in Graphic Design from Iowa State University. She is currently an Associate Professor of Art at St. Ambrose University and also freelances as a graphic designer & photographer. Outside of teaching, Renee engages in sociocultural studies and international adoption issues.
