I live in Auckland, New Zealand. I could be accused of having curiosity a mile wide and an inch deep (something Americans are accused of). I'd be good at gameshows -- I have a smattering of knowlege in a lot of subjects. I used to be able to identify zillions of fonts at a glance but passing fashions and Father Time are fighting over which gets to defeat me first.

All that slaving away with the stacked bricks paid off. It's given me the flexibility, with a little cheating here and there, to strike a fairly convincing bold version that manages to hold the look of the original despite having a weight of 4h x 3v bricks instead of 2h x 1 1/2v. Not quite pound-for-pound. I cheated by raising the whole thing one brick height as well. Otherwise I would have struggled with the tighter glyphs. This is a clone of Plain James

Whole lot of stackin' going on. Approx 8 stacks per glyph, I'm sick to death of it.
I've done quite enough "grasping at straws" fonts for the time being so here's one where I've curbed my instinct to intagliate my favourite glyphs.
I'm trying to incorporate all the things I fancy in this sort of font without violating where FontStruct is willing to go.
This is where most of my fonts fall down (and probably this one, too). Eventually I'll pare away all my affectations and I'll end up with a font that looks like... Helvetica.

A cross between a slab and an I-don't-know-what. Works surprisingly well as a text face. Although it's quite quirky, setting it in a block seems to iron out the strangeness.

I started out quite enthusiastic about this one but now I've cooled somewhat.

my first attempt, so it isn't a real font at all. in a previous life, perhaps I was a governess. I can't imagine what you'd use it for, but you never know...

I needed a bit of light relief after the impossibility of the ill-fated "experiment".

A Bodoni that won't take its meds. I hope to be able to fix the horrendous leading problem. You were warned.

I derive a lot of amusement extracting round forms from straight sections. Don't ask me why.

work in progress. I'm hopeful I can turn this into a viable typeface: it is legible even at 8pt. Maybe when more bricks become available in FontStruct I can refine it.

This program is a kaleidoscope. Just a little shift of a piece and you end up with something different... but the same.

Yes, I've done that on some of my fonts, depending on the scale. I should give it a go, I suppose -- but you know me. Most of my fonts are quickset concrete. I can't be bothered getting out the drill.
Onwards and upwards. Well, sideways anyway.

It's childish but I want to be one of the first to use the sexy new bricks! I'm rushing to market before everything is ready. Again.
