This font was inspired by the works of Christophe Szpajdel (Lord of the Logos, 2010, Die Gestalten Verlag), as well as by the film trilogy and the following game titles (e.g. Middle-earth: Shadows of Mordor, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, 2014) based on Tolkien's epic masterpiece, The Lord of the Rings. Given the game theme, and the 48 bricks vertical limit, I thought more or less around pixel art, or pixel fonts. This is my endeavour to make a spiky blackletter in Szpajdel's black metal style that evokes the terror of Mordor at pixel level. This font has been extensively tested for best kerning, yet some issues might have remained unresolved. This is a clone
A medieval pixel font created for use in the graphic adventure game "Quest For Infamy" by Infamous Quests, (C) 2012-2014. Designed for fantasy / RPG-style video games. Uppercase letters inspired by: various German Blackletter, Old English, and Uncial typefaces; "Deutsch Gothic" by James Fordyce; "1454 Gutenberg Bibel" by John H. Schmidt; "Goudy Medieval" by Mentor Type; "Black Castle MF" by Rick W. Mueller; "Two For Juan" by Nick's Fonts; and Exidy's video arcade game "Venture" (1981). Numerals inspired by various Old English and Gothic typefaces.
Khnum /ħe.'nu:m/. I've updated this font, and given it an italic version, which is available on Font Library. There are three versions: Regular, B Regular, and MS Regular. B is for Bulgarian. MS is for Macedonian and Serbian. The inspiration for Khnum came from Media SA, which was my first large-scale font created many years ago. However, I wanted this font to be a non-modular font, so I re-created it on a small-scale.This is a clone
What began as a half-resolution pixel sketch then acquired a row and column of space between each respective row and column of pixels. In this way I manually doubled the grid, refining glyphs and adjusting their widths as I filled in the 75% undefined pixels that grid-doubling produces. Uppercase was my next addition, then revision, revision, revision.
Visualizing curves, contrast, bias, and stem thickness with whole pixels as the unit of increment turns out to be a very interesting game. I suspect I have just enough resolution to achieve the level of fidelity in the curves I was going for. Composites will allow for more subtle refinements while smoothing out most of the diagonal lines used (with the exception of the current N and X).
Enjoy!This is a clone
