I started off looking at the word 'curves' and after generally looking at spirals and curved objects I decided to make the letters themselves curve. I cut the letter 'A' out of black cardboard and placed it in a glass of water, and then photographed it at many different angles and positions. I really liked the distorted effect the water had on the letters, and so after changing the theme to 'reflection' I carried on this technique with the rest of the alphabet. 'Pane in my glass' is made up of my favourite shapes that came out of this experimentation.

First fontstruction by the theme of 'ornate'.
An all caps display font with sharp accents, crisp lines and solid highlights inspired by black letter.
Not at all complete and would appreciate any comments. This is a clone

For this project I chose the word 'Chaos" as a starting point. From there i started looking at Chaos theory and was inspired by the forms and shapes of Lorenz Attractors. The shapes and lines reminded me of contour lines on maps, and I thought this idea would create a better typeface.
The typeface has ended up being quite psychedelic which fits with my original theme of 'Chaos".

My first attempt at Fontstruct for my project at The University of the West of England.
This font is based on the theme word that I chose, Ornate. I decided to look at weeds and went with the idea that they grow where they are not wanted. I chose to use a normal base letter in the background of the font and place weeds on top; where they are not wanted.
The name, 'Hidden Beauty' spurs from the fact that we automatically hate weeds however if you really look at them you would see that they can actually be quite beautiful. This is a clone

A font initially designed on isometric paper in response to my 'words' brief at UWE. 'Ornate' was the word selected from a list as a starting point. My interest in isometric designs was triggered by Jakob Runge's Fracmetrica typeface. And I know my typeface isn't truly isometric; it's damn hard to create isometric angles on Fontstruct, especially as this is my first font on here. Any constructive criticism, suggestions or advice will be greatly received.
(I've no idea why Fontstruct has displayed my characters in such a strange order)This is a clone
