One of two fonts for use with Sibelius 7 for Windows for typing into transparent textboxes for making incipits (for fifteenth-century and fourteenth-century music editions). This font and extra_mensural give MOST symbols needed, but for making sloping ligatures that descend one tone I use a different font. Using this font properly takes PRECISION, i.e. working with individual symbols at maximum zoom view in the host programme to get positioning right. To make extended oblique ligatures use ends of the half-symbols given.

This font consists purely of elements of musical notation. Some of the letters are a bit far fetched and it is only barely legible, but I like it, and maybe you should use it for musical notes instead of text.

Most are music symbols but some are regular.
Not all are even length

Still a work in progress, but this is a font for quick and dirty musical notation.
z, a, q, and 1 are low 'a.' Each is a different duration (eigth, quarter, half, whole). Use shift on those to go up an octave.
Space is for formatting; one space between notes usually works.
Brackets are left/right staff ends, and vertical line | is the measure divider.
The right side of the keyboard is used for flats and sharps.
Plus and minus are time signatures (still working on those).
Backslash is a repeat sign, and tilde is measure repeat.
` is a treble clef.

This is the font we use at "La Festa" a drums and brasses band from Catalonia. We use it as tabs.
It's mapped like if the keyboard is a piano keyboard, low scale begins in q and high in z.
