A Decorative Drop cap font influenced by children's blocks. Its large noticeable capitals make it suitable for posters and book covers. Each capital has its own unique boarder which gives the typeface a strong sense of playful variety. The simple lower case letters uses shadows to create a basic outline for the letter forms, but forces the viewers eyes to fill in the blanks.

Systematic font is a font that has been created incorporating certain rules and angles and careful boundaries. These lay purpose within every character. The font has a Roman numeral esc to it also.

This font was based on the word 'Systematic' which led me to think of things that involve/are part of systems, for example, pipe works. Inspired from simpler modular fonts but taking a twist on it by making it curved and rounded. Works better at a medium display size.

Originally inspired by the word ‘Disintegrate’. I explored the idea of decay and burnt edges, this lead to printing out an alphabet in the font Gotham and burning the edge just enough to get jagged edges but keep the text legible. By scanning in these letters I could print them onto graph paper which allowed me to format the shapes to fit with fontstruct. I feel this font is more suitable for posters or titles than a page body copy.

Font inspired on lettering seen in a 1961 book on graphic effects in construction drawings.

This is my first typeface, it is based around the theme of "fluid". I was initially inspired by foreign alphabets/symbols/logograms. In particular, Arabic characters in a Chinese calligraphic style. While this start point could have lead to more experimental outcomes, I have chosen to keep the look simple so that it would be more versatile.

Based on asymmetry, this font is inspired by geometrical shapes, Piet Mondrian and gothic fonts. My aim was to create a final font that will express my idea of asymmetry. I experimented with a lot of lines and shapes, glued paper and fonts that are abstract. This typeface can be used for titling mostly because it is too heavy and complicated for script.

Initially contemplating the concept of fluidity, looking at handwritten brush types, lead me to the idea of continuity and landed me with the category of 'continuous.' The central influence leading me to this final typeface was a Social Network diagram, where lines meet seemingly infinitely. The final product ended in a decorative, kinetic font with the use of negative space to create the emerging letters. With the typeface being difficult to read on first inspection, and the overall look of the font makes its uses limited, however I feel it could be successful in many event posters/leaflets etc.

This was my third attempt at creating a successful font for my UWE graphic design project. I originally picked flaccid for my theme however when it came to generating my ideas they seemed very similar to other fonts already made, this led me to take one of my experiments and use it to base my font; Links. focused on repetition and patterns i chose to keep it simple and tried to make a complex looking pattern. any comments would be appreciated.

(WORK IN PROGRESS)
A simple experimental display typeface based upon the theme of repetition and continuity created for my course at UWE. I drew inspiration from the literal idea of repetitive geometry and patterns. (Due to the limitations of fontstruct some manual spacing may be needed when being used.)

Crisp jet-set monoweight display face. Lots of extended Latin glyphs. Cyrillic, Hebrew, and more.
