Sasando Rote typeface is adapted from Traditional Musical Instrument from Rote Island, East Nusa Tenggara in Indonesia "Sasando". The sasando instrument from East Nusa Tenggara’s Rote Island has long been hidden and only visible in books, but the persistence of musicians from the instrument’s homeland is slowly bringing it to the fore. This typeface was made as tribute for indigenous art of music from East Nusa Tenggara.

This typeface was addapted from "egrang" . Egrang is traditional game from Indonesia . The player walk with two bamboo sticks that have some wooden block to place their foots.
The rule is to race until the finish line without droping the foot to the ground .
In this typeface , I used bamboo shape for the stroke and the wooden block for the horizontal stroke .

Introducing the Dayak's long-ear culture, this typeface were taken from one of the most famous and old culture in Indonesia, Dayak from Borneo Island. Dayak has this tradition to make a big whole in women's and men's ears with heavy earrings. This culture named "Telinga Panjang".
So I put a little hole and earrings in this typeface to represent the culture. Enjoy :)

My first fontstruction, inspired by Indonesian Culture. It's the Oekir Djepara (read: Oo-Keer Jew-Para (as in Parachute)). Oekir Djepara is known as the best Javanese Carving. It's curvy stroke based on nature's shapes like tree, flowers and leafs. It's for our Typography assignment from Petra Christian University, Indonesia. Please give me critics for my first whole-set basic latin fontstruction. And if you don't mind, vote for my rating. Thanks.
PS: you might want to take a look at Oekir Djepara, just google it "Ukir Jepara".

This font is inspired from the Ondel-Ondel, a traditional Betawi large doll. The main stroke is taken from the pattern of Sarung while the tree-like ornament is taken from the head ornament of Ondel-ondel and also as a festive symbol.
The black and white parts symbolizes the Ondel couple, the black is the male's and the white is the female's.
