Built around the theme of Decay, the main meaning behind this font is representation of Architectural Decay. The tight kerning and thin widths of each letter are to show the height of buildings when put together in skylines. The mixture of serif and sans serif letters are used as examples of both traditional and modern day architecture being brought together in the same space, although how despite the age differences, both old and new are prone to decay like everything else.

To explore he theme of pompous I have been studying Georgian era culture, from fashion to buildings they where always trying to better one another. I have tried to recreate this by creating towering characters based on Georgian architecture. I believe this font could work on an architectural magazine or other construction based advert.

Altered sound is an abstract display font.
It has been designed based around the theme 'loud' with inspiration taken from musical notes and old school hand drawings. Its mainly a top heavy font and has a distinctive retro look to it. There is high contrast between the top block areas and the thinned out parts of each letter. There are also very unique qualities, such as the diagonal and horizontal lines that run through some letters.
This font would suit an old gangster film poster or maybe and retro comic book.

This is my first fontstruction for a typeface project at UWE. I chose to make a font under the theme “repetition” and wanted to create a simple, pixel art styled typeface with certain continuous elements in it to make my theme clear for the viewer. 1Lifer is a display font inspired of gaming culture, especially the 80s' classic arcade games, such as Tetris, early Super Mario Bros. and Space Invaders. I found the tiled shapes used in these games as a helpful resource to creating my own font – 1Lifer is also made from simple, pixel based forms. I was also inspired by the gaming arcades' bright, blinking lights. The name of the font stems from terms in relation to gaming and is a playful merge between the two expressions "1 up" and "no lifer."

The idea of this typeface came from my theme of lazy. I first looked at what makes someone lazy and how the world that we live in today as made us this way. We want to achive minimal effort in all that we do and never want to do things ourselves anymore. From this I came up with the idea of buttons. Buttons are to make our life easier for example instead of pushing the door open we press a button to do this for us, which in my opinion is very lazy. We don't realise these buttons are here making us lazy we just go about our daily life not noticing the difference. I also put the buttons on thier side to give more of that lazy, can't be bothered to stand up feel about it.

This version of Global Village is also designed for the use in an E-book I am beginning working on as part of a third year university Graphic Design project.
This version shows how the typeface has been constructed as the individual bricks are slightly seperated from one another. This is a clone of Global village

This is my very first attempt on Fonstruct. My theme is based around Decay but it has a slight touch of Motion. I looked at how vines twist and surround objects over time.

I produced this for my "communicating with words" on the graphic design course at UWE Bristol, England. It inspired by weight and gravitation. The way different part drop down away from the base lines, it showed the gravitation on earth.

The finished product from the first communicating with words module at UWE in Bristol. My font is based on the word 'Ornate'. At first I started looking at Iron gates, Jewelry, but after spending about a week trying to make curves on fontstruct and failing each time, i decided to look at native american print and aztec design. i created this font as part of a graphic design project while studying at uwe. i chose the theme of decay and after research and development decided to go with the idea of radioactive decay. i really like the particle effect. the inspiration for this came from images from electron microscopes i found during my research. the build up of particles that make up solid objects is really interesting to me. i wanted to capture the idea of the many tiny particles so i made my font rather large using many circular tiles to gain detail in my letters.

Aidan Jones, A font created for a UWE graphic design project, originally made for a different font which involved pumpkins, however this wouldn't download so I had to simplify the font by getting rid of the pumpkins. This is why the letters are not consistent in size. This is a clone

My first experimentation with Fontstruct. I set myself rules in that all letters must fit to 4x5 squares, and contain 4 circular bricks and 4 elongated bricks. The end result strikes me as a combination of organic and technological forms.

I am a first year student at the University of the West of England, and our first assignment was to create a font based around a chosen word, mine being repetition. My research involved searching the city of Bristol for any signs of repeated patterns, and as I found, pattern is everywhere. I developed my findings into this bold and detailed font.

The simplistic font In arms was created around the theme of curves. I was interested in the curves of the human form (primarily the form and shapes of the arms and hands) The font is not perfect and not symmetrical, just like the human form.

This font evolved out of looking at different kinds of motion. In its form it is representing the movement you see from a car and its lights during night photography.

Block stencil typeface, during designing the letters i wanted to create a stencil type face but every letter had to have the exact vertical space in the center of it. I had rounded edges in my sketched designs but struggled to get the shape in fontstruct.

Living in the shadows. Many children during the second world war were forced to hide for their lives, in dark confined spaces and remain extremely quiet, sometimes for months. My fontstruct typography 'scattered light' was created as part of a design brief given by UWE bristol, the theme followed the word shadow, and thought out the development of the font i looked at the light and shadows created as well as the rays or holes of light that would make it through small gaps. This was sometimes all the light they would see. I've tried to replicate this and take further inspiration from the decayed walls photographed after the war. The font is white on a black background, to symbolize the shadows/darkness they lived in. The font resembles scattered light and decayed surfaces from that period in time.

This typeface is 1 of the responses I had towards the word 'order'. It's not the most intricate of designs, but conveys the idea of order in the form of receipts clearly. This brief was created by my degree course.

This fontstruct was created around the theme of ‘motion’. I drew inspiration from the Da Vinci sketches of the human anatomy which led me to look at muscle fibres, ligaments and tendons. Attributing the interlocking patterns that collagen fibres have or the striations of skeletal muscles, helping me to create a typeface which represents the theme of motion in a static form

1st year Graphic Design student at UWE Bristol. 1st FontStruct, this is behind a three dimensional work, ornate was my chosen theme, cursive handwriting was a main focus. A progressive piece, which is tied into to the name "inifinate" due to study into Graphology.
