Long live Art Deco!
This is my second attempt at mixing classic "Vanity Fair" angles with industrial gothic sans titling. Kerning issues everywhere... but I really like those edges!!

I have always loved Grafitti and although impossible to capture the spontaneity of spraying the underpass or my neighbour's wall, here is a possible alternative!

I have made this typeface because I am inspired to Nordric/Celtic fonts and also Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit.

The design was inspired by the Art Deco era typefaces and architecture. While constructed with simple shapes, it is strong, bold, stylistic, and commands attention. Created in Des Moines, this is Des Deco.

First attempt at creating a typeface and first 'fontstruction'.
This font is a response to the Words and Image's Type project in 1st year at UWE, Bristol.
The idea for this font came from the word 'Ornate' which drove me to look at the intricate posters and works of French artists Alphonse Mucha and Toulouse Lautrec.
This typeface was inspired by the curvacious hand drawn type that makes each piece so distinctively recognisable.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Balloon Face
A fun typeface with a hand rendered feel, inspired by the art of balloon sculpturing. Also a take on the popular graffiti style of bubble writing, as seen and researched in bristol city centre.

The font Flomotion is the outcome to my first semester at UWE, studying Graphic Design. The task was to create a full typeface on the font building website, fontstruct.com. The final design had to relate to a chosen theme, my chosen theme for this project was Motion in which I pursued the subject of optical illusions. I liked the idea of trying to create a false sense of movement with a font, taking inspiration from existing optical illusions with the same effect. This then led me to look at the 'Op' art movement of the 1960's, in particular the extensive work of Bridget Riley. Her use of black and white line giving the illusion of depth had a big influence on my work and I think my final design reflects this.

This is still a work in progress and all comments or suggestions are welcome and appreciated. I'm a first year graphic designer and this is my first time using fontsruct. This is response to a brief of designing a font under the theme 'decorative'. I'm really interested in Art Nouveau and the psychedelic art scene of the 60's and 70's,so it was a combination of this and looking into Moroccan patterns that inspired me. The font is designed to be used on a large scale and in small quantities. This is a clone

This ornamental typeface was based around the word 'DECORATIVE.' I have tried to make this style of type and lettering artistic and eye-catching. It was first inspired by the movement and aesthetic look of ribbon and scrolls. With further research I started to look at old fashioned fairytale typography and classic art nouveau artwork and posters. The typeface itself is very pattern based and every letter has a different element to them which has been inspired by something different.

Inspired by urban architecture, rock texture, fabric twisting and Art Deco, my typeface stands blocked and edgy. Using 45 degree angle lines (7 per each) and 90 degree lines (4 per each)the blocked upper case typeface is confronting, bold and destructive. I have focused on creating a typeface that can be used for titles, magazines and posters. The typeface concentrates on the negative space rather then the positive. This allows each white shape to look unique and cutting.
