My first fonstruction is based around the theme of malnutrition, but focuses on lesser acknowledged end of the spectrum, over-nutrition. I took inspiration from nature of skin and fat on overweight or obese bodies, putting emphasis on the folds and bulges you might typically see on the skin of a larger frame.
I created this typeface around the theme of gregarious, focusing on gregarious plants. I started with drawing the letterforms in ink using a rolled up leaf. The results were twig-like marks which reminded me of the illustrations from 'A Monster Calls' so I developed the letters thinking how they could work alongside this or another story. The name 'This Wild Earth' is taken from the book and I think reflects the scratchy and bold feel of the typeface.
Hello again! Here's someting I started dabbling with years ago, but never finished or published. Fontstruct bricks and functions have evolved since then so I decided to give the ‘font’ a facelift and make it a little more complete (still no plethora of glyphs but I'm ok with it for now). Circus wild west meets casino and slot machines. Gambling, gunpowder, acrobats and jesters. Wash down with tequila.
Weaving Score is a decorative font for musical notation. You can make ornamental musical scores with this font. The correspondence of notation and keys are shown below. You can download the HD image from this link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j85c5253qh644or/AADN8-pft-lH2IF3GYiYEduga?dl=0
Working under the theme of 'Rebirth', I have focused my first font on the idea of post-war architecture, or otherwise commonly known as modernist/brutalist architecture. Buildings constructed following the Second World War were built using new technologies of construction. These types of designs were known for their use of modern materials such as concrete and steel as well as their interesting geometrical forms. I was heavily influenced by the architecture featured in Owen Hopkins' book 'Lost Futures' which looks at the disappearing architecture of post-war Britain and how changing external contexts played a role in the subsequent destruction of these buildings.
Decorative or Cyrcus font? Just a simple font with Cyrillic. Track changes (short slider) for connecting letters. Bala is the first part of the word balalaika and Balagan, an early Russian cyrcus or an open-air theater (https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%91%D0%B0%D0%BB%D0%B0%D0% B3% D0% B0% D0% BD)

Zakhrafa is a type of Islamic art which consists of embellished geometric designs. It is often used to complement Arabic calligraphy on architecture to bookcovers and various media. The inspiration of this font comes from the various Islamic patterns that can be seen on buildings all across Qatar. After living there for 8 years, I learned a lot about the Islamic culture which is what I want the font to reflect.
This is a cloneIn this typeface, I have explored the idea of order and systematic design in an urban surrounding. Following the natural lines from the cement of a regular brick wall I have used the repetitive pattern and method to mark the outline to my type face. This font is primarily created for using in titles and headings rather than in a body of text as it is more impacting as well as visually striking and eye catching.
My first fontstruction was inspired by Eastern Art at the Bristol Museum and Art Gallery. I loved the dragon decoration on the old ceramic pots in this section and have tried to portray a similar theme in my letters. (work in progress)
Home blends contemporary sans-serif characters, created using negative space, with ornate mosaic patterns to form a decorative display font in the style of kitchen tiles. Each character is unique - set against four identical patterned tiles. This typeface is very versatile and functional insofar as that it has the potential to be used in a variety of diverse settings such as magazine article headings, pottery and ceramic prints, wall-hangings and shop signage.
Circus (Decorative font)
This is a clone of Bevan's DecorativeInspired by fountain-based architecture, I've created my first fontstruction for the start of my UWE Graphic Design course. For this, I poured water onto different surfaces/objects with varying shapes to capture the cascading effect as reference images. Originally, I was first inspired by watercolour strokes to make a gradient effect, which developed into the idea of water fountains used in contemporary architecture.
A project I've been working on for some time that combines a readable writing system with a means of creating decorative streams of symbols, allowing for practical or artistic use. It is designed to be writable in the same way as English, with a couple key differences:
end of sentence within a thought:
. = SPACEBARx2
? = ?SPACEBAR
! = !SPACEBAR
end of thought:
. =SPACEBAR-
? = ?-
! = !-
end of paragraph:
. = .
? = ?-
! = !-
numbers:
numbers at the beginning of a sentence = ###-SPACEBARtext
numbers at end of sentence = textSPACEBAR-###SPACEBAR-
Use as applicable to avoid numbers and letters bleeding into each other.
For purely artistic streams of writing, Start every sentence with a capital, skip spaces, and use '-' as a period. This allows for a smooth bar of symbols without any random bits jutting out that can be used for framing or backgrounds.
I built this font ignoring all knowledge and experience of brickwork and physics. Yet it stands up to use ;) Work in progress...
This is a clone of Free MasonryDiamundi is a very simple but funny patterned decorative typeface design that mimics facets(flat faces on a geometric shape).
And for that everyone that is checking this, please make sure you zoom in max. to see whats really going on, Even beter, make sure you've seen the sample image bellow, because the Fontstruct preview is total garbage due to my use of composite bricks at this grids tiny size.
Enjoy!
