Retrofuturism, no sharp corners (except in the percent sign because of the smaller zeroes). Should probably better differentiate S/5... Also first try at Cyrillic.

Congratulations! FontStruct Staff have deemed your FontStruction worthy of special mention. “Cosmotron” is now a Top Pick.
Comment by Rob Meek (meek) 7th november 2017

@meek Have you added a Futuristic category?

Comment by anonymous-1466233 7th november 2017

Nicey nice. I particularly love your diacritics.

Comment by TCWhite 7th november 2017

Try a smaller curve on the top of 5.

Comment by anonymous-1466233 8th november 2017

@V. Sarela (Yautja) - Love this chunky '70s futuristic type of font.  Like you did with the Z and 2, I would reverse the Z to turn it into an S with a slanted angle to differentiate it from the 5.

Something like this?

Comment by anonymous-1466233 8th november 2017

Alternate 6 on ^

Alternate 7 on `

Alternate A on ~

Thanks for the comments and top pick!

@xXx Good suggestion, but I haven't used smaller curves anywhere else on full-size characters, so I'll pass.

@Goatmeal: I was considering that, I changed the uppercase S to it. Thanks.

How did you do the smooth curves on certain characters (like 0, 7, etc.)

On your alt. 7...

Cool font! But without the Cyrillic alphabet :( Really cool, but especially I love OCR fonts(bad cyrillic) with no contrast.
As for the '5', I suggested in this font to tilt the horizontal stem to the right, since this is a more typical, common form (you can see it in my fonts by the Sychoff tag).

Wow, what a beauty! Congratulations on the TP :)

Thanks Sychoff and Aeolien. I'm not familiar enough with Cyrillics to add them, though maybe I could give it a try for this font...

Comment by V. Sarela (Yautja) 10th november 2017

Added Russian Cyrillic, hope it's good.

Comment by V. Sarela (Yautja) 10th november 2017

а and я  look similar to each other... Maybe flipping а...

Comment by anonymous-1466233 10th november 2017

the bottom of а*

Comment by anonymous-1466233 10th november 2017

Cool if you really want to try cyrillic, I can help with references: this and this have not really good cyrillic so better try forms from this or any other of my fonts. Good luck!

P.S.: I hope you do not mind that I made cyrillic extension of your font Devico?

Comment by Dmitriy Sychiov (Sychoff) 10th november 2017

Looks good to me—the Cyrillic, I mean. I agree about ya looking to similar to a, but given your design, I cannot think of how I would correct it.

Comment by TCWhite 10th november 2017

@TCWhite: The personal researches of the font of the Cyrillic alphabet readability are still going on. But the graphemes are long established, so many experiments with letter forms by non-Cyrillic designers are not very successful.
And in Russia, a lot of fonts are made not by designers, but by enthusiasts (often programmers and translators), so do not go for their design. Often, they make fonts as easier, not as better. I'm also an enthusiast, but I'm trying to learn a font design and do the best I can.

I have the same concern about the (very) low-res Latin characters. Keep up maintaining the right/known glyphs above all (I'm not a Cyrillic user…).

Comment by dpla 11th november 2017

Great! How did you double the size of the quarter circles? I'm making a 'party ripoff' of this font.

Comment by Hensley Dodson (Hensilly) 10th june 2020

@Hensilly: by changing the filters (enable Expert Mode and press F).

Comment by V. Sarela (Yautja) 10th june 2020

Whoa, there! How did you make that pinch on K and others?
