A recreation of the pixel font used in Williams Electronics' "Joust" (1982) and "Joust 2" (1986) arcade games, with a few custom characters added to make it more useful - including a set of arrows based on the "delete" left arrow from the hiscore entry screen. I took the liberty of modifying the overly chunky colon from the original, bringing it in line with the rest of the characters.

@redux - Very nice! Look forward to more.

@redux - Massive props for making this. I'm currently remaking Joust in HTML5 & JS using a framework called Phaser for research. This will speed work up nicely.

I'll post a link to the finished game when it's done.

@redux Don't get excited. It's not an exact copy or anything, not even eggs or waves etc. Just did it to learn some game programming basics. Beats making a Flappy Bird clone!

You can see it in action here: http://www.artbymattlewis.com/ (Just click the Joust logo).
I also turned your font into a bitmap font using Littera: http://kvazars.com/littera/ so the game engine could use it.

The game engine is called Phaser and is pretty great: http://phaser.io/

Thank you for making this font, it was nice to put it to good use and I'll probably work on the Joust copy from time to time.

@artbymattlewis hah, still looking good :) tiny request: is it possible at all to have a small mention in the page's small print for my font, linking to http://www.splintered.co.uk/experiments/169/ ?

I'm really sorry about the above two comments, not sure what's going on there. I'll add a massive link to it. Sorry I didn't do it already.

I only just read that you removed the larger colon. I made the colon clunky again in my little experiment. I'm going to add more to this project in a few weeks. I'll keep you posted via pm's to save this page.
