this was for the first exercise from the "thinking with type" book by ellen lupton!
the prompt was to make a rectilinear (thus the name "rectilia") bitmap font with no curves or diagonals (even using "staircases", but i cheated a little lololol)
this was my first time making a font! i'm happy with the end result and would be overjoyed if you liked it too and decided to use it!
*P.S: it's only in caps! if you enter lowercase letters they'll turn up empty.
This type face was originally inspired by the title of horizon zero dawn, I have a love of Sci-fi and wanted to bring something bold with some movement built directly in. I veiw this working well being writen in an eastern style straight up and down, but also large and spread out.
a square typeface intened to be used for single words, small phrases or for brand names and logos. However i feel it does have a nice textural look when used for large bodies of text. My first published type of Fontstruct. Any feedback would be very much appreciated.
A dotty serif!
I love the technique of dotting, it gives me lots of oppertunites for curves, as you can see in the font.
The lowercase are alternates to the uppercase!
Thanks to all the fontstructers who give me determination and inspiration, such as frongile, riccard0, and elmonique!
