This typeface was created with a ‘Protect’ theme and I’ve chosen nature, what we see everyday. I made a mind map about nature and focused on trees, because lots of trees were cut down illegally. My main intention was to remind people about this interference. I sketched a various style to resembles the human interference to trees. Every alphabet has their own human interfere with a little bit sense of Serif, because what I see from trees are elegant and strong.
My typeface currently encapsulates the verb “protect” through two opposing connotations; one of them being to self protect; this phrase is conventionally associated with weapons, and I have illustrated this through sharp edged strokes to imitate knife-like objects. The other being is to hide; this is inferred the personification of the fact that elements of my letters are hiding themselves.
My font is based on the Ministry of Transportation building in Georgia. The building itself is inspired by Japanese Metabolism architecture. Which is a moventment inspired by growth and adapabilty. I wanted my font to feel as though you could stack and change it just like Metabolism architecture.
My ‘white bear’ font is based on my set brief: ‘protection.’ The font style proposes the idea of an atypical font, creating a distorted and experimental look, differing from the ‘norm’. The inspiration for my font is based on the black mirror episode ‘bandersnatch’ where the white bear logo is shown, which presents the idea of gaming, glitching and an overall digital ambience in visual text, leading to my outcome of the square pixel font.
Inspired by the idea of how newspapers are printed to protect us, I've created my first fontstruction for the start of my UWE graphic design course. I drew the letters by hand using black ink and a quill that sort of created this idea of the ink that is used in newspapers. Therefore, creating this abstract font design.
I have created this typeface inspired by my theme ‘sustainability’ and the protection of the environment, particularly focusing within the fashion industry. This project has made me think more in depth about the affects fast fashion has to the environment and how this can be resolved. I started experimenting this theme by sketching distorted, organic typefaces to create a freeform look to represent the quality of fast fashion. This led me to looking at thread and embroidery and how freeform and swift it is unravelled, I used thread to create letters and see how they form naturally when placing the thread down. I took photos of the outcomes and used them to inspire my fontstruct letters. This gave me a sense of the shapes and lines that are created naturally and pushed me a step further within my progression.
This bold, swirling font draws its inspiration from the theme of 'Protect'. Within this theme, I looked into how people use crystals to protect their aura, soul, and mental and physical health. I thought about the contrasts that crystals have - smooth, curved and polished but also jagged and rough. I created pixelated curves using fontruct bricks to emulate this as well as adding the 'shine' that crystals give off.
This typeface attempts to capture the movement of a rose's stem, done through the its natural curls and the inclusion of thorns. These thorns are what protects the typeface itself, just as a rose protects its flower.
With the given theme of Protection, I looked into the human immune system and the biological human features. Researching further into antibodies, I created a type face of the antibody structure which resembles the shape of a capital Y. Following symmetrical shapes and doubled lines, I created an alphabet that mimics the original structure of antibodies, with similar joints and angles.
a fan font of Axzidenz-Grotesk and Customer Serif.
Note: This is the serif font you see when typing monospaced Asian English characters in Minecraft.
Also, the characters are taken on a large grid, that's because there are only 66 glyphs. Fanmade Hebrew and Korean are to construct and follow rules of creativity like: no copying others work, be constructive.
(Please note that this font is not fully accurate, so you may see some fanmade glyphs.)
ALSO: PLEASE DONT CLONE IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO CHANGE ANYTHING
This font was made for a university project where we designed a typeface based on a chosen theme (Mine being rebirth)
I hope you enjoy my deconstructed abstract font which explores an alternative take on typography
Concept lettering based around the theme of 'incompleteness'. The typeface features a consistent negative space element, which both divides and completes individual letters. The font began as a experiment in which glyphs could be reduced to while still remaining legible before evolving into its current form.
This concept is currently being developed furver.
The font is inspired by prompt word 'rebirth'. This typeface represents the change in lettering overtime, can be interpreted with the bold layer representing more minimalistic and professional modern lettering and the thin lines being more rough lines inspired by cave carvings. I took an abstract aproach to adding shade in certain areas the letters are cut which made the typeface look quite geometric at first glance.
Font based on given theme of Rebirth- Playing with idea of reconstruction of objects into new purpose. Letters combinations of objects were randomly generted to play into the rough, hand crafted aesthetic.
This is a theme developed from "Rebirth", a kind of new extraterrestrial typeface style living on Mars.
I was influenced by graphic and typeface designer Wim Crouwel, with a simple structure and a mixture with another typeface from the game Wolfenstein, avoiding additional strokes.
It also resembles a kind of domino.

A fun and energetic ornamental typeface based on the theme "community". Inspired by the pictograms of Otl Aicher and the isotype of Otl Nuerath, creating simplified figures. When words are typed, the people join together to make a community.
