But the circles overlap sometimes, the serifs are inconsistent, and the letterforms are strange (although the combination of filters makes a rather interesting result with 1x zoom)

Each glyph is in self marvelous, you must keep this sense of wonder and work with the glyph during... maybe weeks? It is possible... But the final work will make you smile... And That's All (by the moment).
PS: This is my personal approaching way to one font, nothing academic, you can see that...
