Ogham started as a vertical alphabet used mainly for inscriptions on stone. In time the script was adapted into a horizontal version suitable for writing onto parchments and into books. The letters were always written on a horizontal line and sentences were started and finished with special symbols (I have used the opening and closing brackets for these). There was no other punctuation. My version is more decorative than the original and has added characters to allow its use (as a cypher at least) in todays world.
