A typeface that provides you with a glimpse into brickwork construction.
Monospace lowercase and duospace uppercase (double the width of lowercase), with negative-space diacritics.
Strong tensile and compressive strength (works well stretched, squeezed, and warped in general).
Based on the word: 'Destructive', the 'Beta Build' font is one that resembles a somewhat destroyed buildng. Having the solid chunks of the letters correspond with the steel beam-like structure of the inside sets it as both a work in progress building as well one that is crumbling due to an unforseen man made or natural disaster.
This is a cloneWith the starting point being the word systematic. It led to working with structure and the idea of scaffolding. Through my development I started experimenting with construction and buildings which later began a subject of retro gaming due to the bricks looking digitalised. When putting all these inspirations together it reated a final typeface which looks like a building in progress.
This font relates to my original theme, ‘Messy’, which was developed based on the Brazilian slums, Favelas. In Western culture, these are viewed as ‘messy’, however in Brazilian culture they take great pride in their homes. This reflects the idea that people respond to the same theme in different ways depending on their cultural context. This font is designed to be used at large display sizes of 100pt or more as this means that the detail in each character can be clearly seen.
