I started looking at making a font using the theme sharp, I wanted to stay away from the obvious of making it look like sharp objects and looked at what sharp objects can do. That's how i came to this. I have taken simple letter forms and cut into them, trying to make it look like they have been cut up and put back together.

First fontface ever done for uni brief dealing the theme 'sharp'.
After some research i found out that a sharp is also a lunar impact crater and decided to build this font around this idea. The stripes are also a reminder of noise as a sharp is also a very high pitch note...
Feedback welcome!

I was interested by the movement and vibrations created from sound for this typeface as part of my first year of Graphic Design.
I experimented with speakers with paint and corn, taking photographs of the movement throughout.
This is a simple sans serif typeface, using different sized cubes to create the effect of noise or vibration flowing out of the type.

For my font I tried searching for a new meaning to explore the theme of curves. I did this by approaching it in a different manor by looking into the value of 3D curves, for example poles. This was then developed from phone masts into the forms of aerial and radar. Its name derives from my view that the font Arial could be updated and made more exciting and I did this in a literal way, its primarily a headline font, but could also be used for logos, especially within the telecommunication industry.

Originally inspired by sacred tibetan writing. It was much harder to achieve the look than first anticipated. Tried to work each letter around a singular central curve and included features i noticed in tibetan writing.

This font was designed based on construction and metal structures found in bristol. It is curved but still quite heavy in form.

The idea of this typeface came about from my theme of lazy, I first looked at what makes someone lazy looking at the different positions the human form makes when sitting or standing in a lazy way. I then had the idea of a potatoe couch someone who hardly moves around, fat, podgy and takes minimal effort in achiving things. I took pictures of people in these sort of positions to know what sort of shapes I wanted to achieve. My letters have no elements in to make it look even more fatter, they are very blocked, bold and done in a careless way to give more of that lazy impression. I also made the seperation of the letters very small as they are too lazy to even move apart from each. The ways in which I would use this typeface is maybe in fast food industry brands or to be controvertial in healthy foods to make the point of what being lazy will make you into.

This type face was designed for a project on my first year of graphic design at UWE (university of the west of england). I worked on the word 'Motion' so i hope this evokes that feeling, movement etc. Its based on a standard geometric sans serif font structure much like Helvetica or Futura.

This typeface was based on 3D models I made with plasticine to replicate squishing of letters. The font is more regimented and simple, to look more like new, strips of plasticine, which gives it a neater look.

This font came from the idea of 'squishy' being merged with the word 'decay' - such things as food become 'squishy' when they start to 'decay' and rot.

The original starting point for this typeface was "Decay." I was thinking about what is left after something has completely decayed, which brought me to the idea of using skulls. After having created the skull outline, I tried different ways of including the letterforms, and decided that the simpler the better (and more readable.) As a result, the typeface has gained a sort of old-school computer game-esque feel - hence the name.
This Fontstruction has been created as a part of a Project during my first term studying Graphics at UWE.This is a clone of GAME OVER
