Fashionably Anarchic Striped Edition.
"Fashionably Anarchic" is a typeface inspired by the 1970s Punk movement- paying notice to the political, economical and social issues of the time and how they affected what we commonly refer to as the “Punk Aesthetic”. Ransom note lettering, stencils, silkscreen printing and the appropriation of current cultural imagery aided the movement to deliver its important message of rebellion. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Starting off with the theme "Dangerous", my focus for this project drifted to the definitions of both “rebellion” and “anarchy”. This naturally led me to the Punk movement and how it’s graphic style has been adopted into contemporary design practice. These graphics were often rough, raw, weathered and distressed- all of which I’ve tried to incorporate into my own type’s design. Ironically, the fact that this “style” is being used for commercial gain goes against the very foundations of Punk itself. This realisation spurred on the font’s name “Fashionably Anarchic”.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This typeface would be best utilised in consideration to posters, flyers and possibly book covers (providing the content matches the attitude of the font). Thank you very much, all comments are welcome!This is a clone of Blimey! Rough
This font is based on what an insane persons attempt to draw or write on the side of their cell's might look like. I have tried to make it look like it has been scratched into a concrete wall by perhaps using a small stone or something that a mental patient may be able to find.
A typeface built only with 90º angles and almost without curves. Inspired by monolithic dolmens and the Monolith from Sir Arthur C. Clarke's 2001 series - meaning half futuristic, halft neolithic... by Jeancarlo Cerasoli (www.designversatil.com)
This is my first font here at Fontstruct. It was fun to do it. I wanted to make a font that looked like it was made by hand, and rough looking. I hope you like it.
This technique certainly has the potential for more than this, but right now I don't have the time for experimenting a lot. But how about using it for a handwriting-on-rough-paper font?
And yep, I'll do a more complete character set soon...
More fun with composite stacks, packing more detail into smaller grids. The crosshatching is made less regular by alternating and rotating a set of three four similar, yet distinct bricks. correction made on 2/15This is a clone of Fat Bit
A font with sharp edges and corners. I have tried to make it as proportionate as possible, but I think there is lot of room for improvement. If you use this font and wish to give feedback, feel free to do so.
Hi! My name is Patricia and I study Graphic Design at UWE. As part of my project I decided to use decay as the theme for my font. I started my research by photographing old building, rusty metal, broken brick, etc. Then I started experimenting and looking at other decay fonts, this is when I decided that I didn't want my font to have the typical broken appearance. So I decided to go for more of a scratchy, rough and uneven font. This is a clone
Sketchy type font, first try on Fontstruct, looks great small but anything larger than 24 gets funky.
This font combines the aestethics of Fraktur and Roman typefaces. It is also (now fully) stencil. But you would need a strong material for the schabelons, as most counters only have one opening. // The name "Düpbøl" is the combination of the German and Danish names of the same town in Southern Jutland ("Düppel" and "Dybbøl" respectively).
This is a font based on the concept of how little of a character must be shown in order to recognize that character,in the idea of wooden letters carved including the frame. Largely inspired by Wim Crouwels New Alphabet. Not complete, reworking dimensions of the characters within the frame.
A simple heavy partially rounded all-caps sans-serif, my first font created with 2 by 2 filters. I wasn't knowing that's so handy! :D
Fixton Gothic is great for headlines and logotype. I hope you will like using it! It hasn't many characters now but i will fix that in a following update.
My second script attempt, Bliss, is the result of mixing the classic elegance of humanistic italics and the roughness of the pixelization, that gives a "pencil like" feeling.
This font was created as part of my university work, I have created the work by picking a random theme (dangerous) I then researched and brainstormed words which relate to dangerous and then created ideas on things I had seen I liked in other fonts. I linked my theme to the grunge style of work as I think this was appropriate to do so. I wanted my font to look quite messy but at the same time readable. I wanted the font to look quite 'squared' in style as to round as I feel it looks better structurally.
These characters could easily have been scribed in the mud by a child. It hails to the carefree days of playing outside on a rainy day. But of course it's important not to play too long.
