Recreation of the font used in Capcom's "Ghouls 'n Ghosts" (1988). As some of the characters used a subtle amount of antialiasing in the game, this is a slightly reinterpreted version that contains some artistic liberty, particularly in the special characters. Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included. Note the heart, which has been mapped to "heavy black heart" (U+2764), and the !! "double exclamation mark" (U+203C).
Pixel font recreation from Konami's classic "Gradius" (1986). A variation on the generic Nintendo font, most notable in the letters V, Y and in some of the numeral. This font includes the special characters from my standard Nintendoid 1 to make it more generally useful, and for the first time includes the strange "horizontal semicolon" used on most of the early Nintendo games' start screens.
EDIT August 2019: it appears I was off by one pixel on the "horizontal semicolon". Fixed now.
This is a clone of Nintendoid 1Clone of LucasArts SCUMM - Outline. Solid typeface used in "Indiana Jones And The Fate Of Atlantis", (C) 1992/1993 LucasArts. Now you can fill in the outline version!
This is a clone of LucasArts SCUMM - OutlineIn-game dialogue font from Space Quest 6: Roger Wilco In The Spinal Frontier, (C) 1995 Sierra On-Line. Sierra Resource File Tags: "70.fon" & "71.fon"
Ashlander Pixel is a pixelated version of "Goudy Medieval". Born out of a deep love for Bethesdas "The Elder Scrolls"-series and typography this font not only supports the latin, greek and cyrillic alphabet, but also contains a variety of special symbols related to The Elder Scrolls.
I suggest using the ttf-format for now as the spacing in the otf-format is for some reason totally off. I optimized this font using InDesign, therefore the kerning in some other programs might not work as intended.
I am happy to hear feedback on this font and any issues you might encounter.
May the Nine be with you.
Recreation of the "chalkboard" pixel font used in Nintendo's 1995 Super NES classic "Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island". Only the characters used in the game have been included. The "Q", "X", "Z" and "j" are my own creation, as these characters don't seem to have been used in any of the on-screen texts I came across. Note that this font includes a few special characters, mapped to the most appropriate unicode point: the Yes/No selection arrow (mapped to "triangular bullet" U+2023), directional arrows (U+2190 - U+2193) and the circled "A" (U+24B6), "B" (U+24B7), "X" (U+24CD) and "Y" (U+24CE).
Update Sept. 2019: proper left/right double quote mark; "j" fixed; "Q", "X" and "Z" fixed; added accented characters and "ß" - note that, for some reason, the accented "e" and "i" versions have an additional pixel of letter-spacing; added ordinal "ª" and "º"; added "æ"; added "¡" and "¿" from the spanish version of the game on the Game Boy Advance - note that the regular exclamation and question marks in the spanish version are different from the English/French/German version, and this recreation keeps the ones from the latter.
Recreation of the font used in the arcade version of Konami's "cute 'em up" "TwinBee" (1985), expanded to include some more special characters. In the game, on-screen text uses both an outline color and a separate fill. To achieve the same look, you can combine TwinBee Outline with TwinBee Solid.
Recreation of the pixel font from Nintendo's "Super Mario Land" (1989) on the Game Boy. The same font was reused in other games like "Tetris" (1989), "Dr. Mario" (1990) and "Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3" (1994). Only the characters present in the game ROM have been included.
Update: removed a stray extra pixel in the "9".
Recreation of the pixel font used in the Capcom classic "Ghosts 'n Goblins" (1985). The slightly odd vertical spacing of some of the punctuation marks has been retained as it appears in the game. Note the special characters mapped to their respective unicode points: !! "double exclamation mark" (U+203C), ?! "question exclamation mark" (U+2048) and "heavy black heart" (U+2764).
Recreation of the pixel font used in Capcom's "Hyper Street Fighter 2 - The Anniversary Edition" (2004) - though it actually made its first appearance in "Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers" (1993). Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included (but, for once, the set is almost complete in this game).
