A recap of the lettering by Dutch graphic designer "Jurriaan Schrofer" that he designed for the "gemeentereiniging" (translated: municipal cleaning services).
It's not very clear which eventually became the definitive alphabet that went into use, so I combined the two most important sketches into one typeface.
Enjoy!
Personally the title is just as important as the typeface itself. My goal was to create something just as fun as the title. My inspiration was 70’s style typography and design. I wanted to create a groovy feel while still being legible to give it the strength of more than just a title font. Bazoova is funky font ready to be the reinvention of the 70’s.
This font was created from experimentation with fur and inspired by how it can flow so freely. It took many different routes and ended up evoking an oriental theme based on spectacular treasures discovered in the Han royal tombs in China. These treasures are displayed in an exhibition named 'The Search for Immortality' and holds free flowing dragon forms that are made from solid jade stone. I chose to reflect the way thick hair flows into my design that creates distinguishable letterforms, both unique and complimentary of one another.
Designed as part of my university course, this font is based around the word 'squishy', taking inspiration from body forms, shapes and the creases which are created from these body types. The emphasis is not so much around the shape itself, but the negative space between them. This typeface has been created surrounding the theme ‘Protect’. I took inspiration from the physical format of bubble wrap, which is why this font is made up of dots. I focused on the 3D aspect of it being unravelled - how it is thicker when rolled up, and thinner when unravelled.
The typeface mimics a shadow at a 45 degree angle. This can be seen in the slanted increase in thickness at the bottom, contrasting the thinness of the top.
An experimental font "antipode". The opposition lies in the fact that in one font there are rounded strokes and pixels. Some letters and characters are completely rounded, some are pixelated, and some have both rounded and pixel elements
