I was interested by the movement and vibrations created from sound for this typeface as part of my first year of Graphic Design.
I experimented with speakers with paint and corn, taking photographs of the movement throughout.
This is a simple sans serif typeface, using different sized cubes to create the effect of noise or vibration flowing out of the type.

This is a project for uni which i created by researching curved objects which surrounded me and tried to use the same technique and rules throughout the characters.

This font came from the idea of 'squishy' being merged with the word 'decay' - such things as food become 'squishy' when they start to 'decay' and rot.

This type was an initial experiment to get to know Fontstruct. I find it gives off a 'space invader' type look/ feel to it.

This is an adaptation of my typeface 'look sharp'. Here I've used open blocks to give this glamorous reproduction of my previous design. This is a clone of LOOK SHARP

This is my font based around the word Order and the idea that order is created using rules.... in this case 3 simple rules, straight lines, no diagonal lines and middle line at the same height as lowercase letters

This is a project for my Graphic Design course in UWE. The theme is called Vibration and this font is based on sound waves. I did quite a few experiments before coming out with this final font. I looked at different types of vibrations and the movement of the waves. I decided to work with lines because it gives the font a sense of motion. This is a clone

This font is based around the theme 'pompous' I aimed to combine both tradition and modern relations to the meaning and create a bold typeface.

This typeface was influenced by the arcade game 'snake'. I focused on the movements made from the game. I designed it for my 'Communicating With Words' project in Graphic Design.

Font inspired by a mixture of the sharp lines used in ancient calligraphy, and cuts in sheets of metal. I used these influences and involved elements such as the rivits used in metal sheets. This is a clone

This is a revised version of my previous font Megatron. I decided to elongate the letters to add a bit of variety to the lines instead of the letter sides being equal. This is a clone of Megatron

This font was created as part of a Graphic Design project at UWE, it’s based around the theme of Fluidity, I have taken inspiration from the flow water takes as it moves through water systems. The hollow inners on the letters are representing reflection inspired by bubbles and waters surface. My hand drawn sketches incorporated more natural & wider curves that I struggled to transfer on to fontstruct so was forced to simplify it because of the time schedule. I am currently still developing the font into something more elaborate that portrays the theme of fluid better, experimenting with tone and more ambitious ideas.
All feedback is appreciated

The original plan was to make a font based on ancient runes, and I did that here, http://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/1067592, howver before I finished that one I wanted a font that was based on ancient runes but that at the same time looked modern, It was with that in mind that this font came into existence.
Straight lines and sharp angles define the shapes. The double lines one the left are present with the theme in mind, asymmetry.

This font was created around the theme of DANGEROUS.
Norse Runes and their links to ‘dangerous’ Vikings, Celts and Historic Warriors led me to create this font based on the angles and ‘sharpness’ of weapons and original runic alphabet shapes.
The font is very readable but would probably only be used for a bold title for a book (including sub-titles) based on history or a poster for bands, events or even propaganda posters.

This Fontstruction captivates the atmosphere of the seaside, combining playfulness and the motion of the water.
This was for a project called "Found Type" for the Graphics Design course at UWE Bristol.
I picked the theme 'fluid' and looked at how it can represent hundreds of different designs.
For my font I purposely tried to avoid the obvious idea of drips or water droplets and went for something more subtle. I chose the sans-serif style as I prefer modern type to traditional, but also because it looks cleaner and flows better when written out.
I looked specifically at pictures of the seaside from the 20th century as the beaches were busier and livelier, so I tried to encapsulate the vibrancy into a font without over-complicating the design.

This font was based on the theme 'messy'. I started to look at food mess and crumbs, but i also looked at rushed, scribbled hand written looks. So I guess its a combination of the two. Enjoy xxx

Based around the theme of 'malnutrition' this font offers a playful, cartoon inspired take on a seemingly uncomfortable topic area. I approached the theme as 'the taking away or lack of' ... Linking back to the idea of food, the variation in bite marks represents this idea, whilst still retaining a sense of legibility. I've found this font works best on a large scale.

By working from the word "Systematic", I wanted to produce something that used shapes as the letterforms themselves. The type needed to be well-proportioned and clear with little detail - just crisp angles and lines. I worked with grids to construct the letterforms in order to develop the basic structure of each one. I'd love to expand on the typeface further by playing with bolder lines, different shapes and more obscure formations.

The idea behind my font is having a shape then bending it round continuously without any breaks/gaps to create the letterforms. I have always enjoyed working with circles through out my design work and it so happened to be a recurring theme through out my font. I experimented many ways on creating circles using FontStruct - this proved difficult. I did some research on how other designers created their circular based fonts. Many used the circle bricks by nudging and layering to create an illusion of a circle. I feel that my font could be used both large and small scale. In large scale you can see the non-smoothness of the curves and makes it seem caterpillar like which may appear ugly to some. In small scale it is the opposite - the circles appear perfect and the curves look smooth. My font is very simple which makes it legible to read in both scales.

Unstable is based on the effect made when paper is burned to reveal layers and uneven edges. My original idea was to look at what happens to materials as they endure the process of burning. This evolved to looking at what remains of the material when it looks to be on the precipice of collapse. This resulted in letterforms that are quite dramatic with aspects of deterioration and roughness overshadowing the structure. Shading also adds texture and makes it more visually engaging. It could have a variety of applications including use in the horror genre, video games and grunge apparel. This is a clone

after researching into Herbert Bayer and Josef Alber's Sencil font as they expressed the need for simple sans serif fonts as he states, "expanding industrial world requires fast legible text for a fast moving lifestyle." Therefore this influenced me to make a more simple type face which would be easy to read from a distance and close up, at all different speeds. Therefore this would be a good font for many purposes such as road signs and billboards for advertising. Jock Kinneir and Margret Calvert have designed a very simple and easy font to read for varying speeds and distances as they made the font for many transport systems such as the Motorway.

developed from the theme of continuous.
Started with initial idea of continuous line which can still be seen in his type alongside the use of shapes. inspired by Matt W Moore, Herbert Bayer, El Lissitsky and Paul Renner. This is a simple design with the use of lines being continuous and making shapes.

This typeface was inspired after researching into what the word fluid could mean. I looked into the form of liquid state and how it moved. I tried to replicate this with drawings but then had trouble replicating it in fontstruct. I think that this typeface is useful only for large scale use as its creates a dazzle when small, and is also only in capitals.
