What is a mosaic?
A mosaic is a pattern or image made of small regular or irregular pieces of colored stone, glass or ceramic, held in place by plaster/mortar, and covering a surface.[1] Mosaics are often used as floor and wall decoration, and were particularly popular in the Ancient Roman world.
Did you know?
Mosaic today includes not just murals and pavements, but also artwork, hobby crafts, and industrial and construction forms.
Early history
Mosaics have a long history, starting in Mesopotamia in the 3rd millennium BC. Pebble mosaics were made in Tiryns in Mycenean Greece; mosaics with patterns and pictures became widespread in classical times, both in Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome. Early Christian basilicas from the 4th century onwards were decorated with wall and ceiling mosaics. Mosaic art flourished in the Byzantine Empire from the 6th to the 15th centuries; that tradition was adopted by the Norman Kingdom of Sicily in the 12th century, by the eastern-influenced Republic of Venice, and among the Rus. Mosaic fell out of fashion in the Renaissance, though artists like Raphael continued to practice the old technique. Roman and Byzantine influence led Jewish artists to decorate 5th and 6th century synagogues in the Middle East with floor mosaics.
Later History
Figurative mosaic, but mostly without human figures, was widely used on religious buildings and palaces in early Islamic art, including Islam's first great religious building, the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, and the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus. Such mosaics went out of fashion in the Islamic world after the 8th century, except for geometrical patterns in techniques such as zellij, which remain popular in many areas.
GUESS WHAT? Mosaics still exist!!!
Modern mosaics are made by artists and craftspeople around the world. Many materials other than traditional stone, ceramic tesserae, enameled and stained glass may be employed, including shells, beads, charms, chains, gears, coins, and pieces of costume jewelry.
My typeface is inspired by the lettering that people vandalise park benches with by scratching intials or short phrases onto them. It is a jagged font replicating the inability to scratch curves effectively when using a knife on metal or wood. The characters vary slightly in size in order to achieve a hand made effect.
The grotesque font Inspector has been ruined by Aldi236, creating the horrible-looking font we know today. Use for boasting about the ruining of the Inspector font whose original design was an ordinary grotesque font with serif bases.
This is a clone of DebitThis typeface is inspired by a traditional chicken noodle street food store in Indonesia. I want to make this typeface as simple as possible but also appealing in people's eyes. The chicken noodle contain noodle, minced chicken, chicken dumpling and of course some fried crispy pangsit. In each every stroke of the typeface there something sharp at the middle and that's represent the fried pangsit and also the typeface that i made is rather slim and semi elastic that represent the thin and almost chewy noodle.
This typeface form is adapted from a typical Indonesian street food meatballs, a round shape on typeface describes the shape of meatballs, which are round and always served in a bowl of beef broth. The distinctive taste of the meatballs is so enjoyable that it has always been a favorite food of Indonesian society.

A typeface inspired by Indonesian Food, Sate Madura. Madura is a small island in East Java. They have a lot of traditional things which can not be found in another place. Their famous traditional culture are Sate (some people call it Satay), and their Madura pattern Batik. I decide to combine these contents into one typeface, and here it is!

I wanted to create my font based around the theme of cracks in buildings. I took Inspiration from the formation of cracks in buildings. Everyone is familiar with cracks in bricks, concrete blocks and walls of houses and how some of these cause structural instability. They take on all sorts of shapes and sizes. They can start thin and then widen following a zig zag path between points that resembles a lightening bolt. I want to recreate this cracking within my font. I started with a font style that had curves and straight edges associated with different building styles. I then constructed cracks from potential weak spots in the letters. I diffused the edges of these cracks to try and demonstrate crumbling concrete.
