I have many clones of the basic version of Caractère, with different line thickness and with different arragements of diacritics and decoration elements. This is a version with many elegant decorative lines-swirls.
This is a cloneInspired by the works of regular_one. Unlike most fonts I've released recently, many of the glyphs had to be modified or even redone from scratch.
- M, W, m, w, @, #, %, <, >, ~, and the circumflex above accented letters were all too wide and had to be condensed;
- I, f, i, j, l, r, and t were all too narrow and were expanded a bit, mostly through the careful application of serifs;
- K, M, W, X, Y, v, w, y, 7, /, and \ all had ugly mixes of angles that needed to be redesigned;
- N, *, (, and ) were completely redesigned, and many more touched up, to fit better with the rest of the font.
Most of the edits made were not possible before nudging. It's still not perfect, but it's much better than it was before, and I'm proud of how much it has "grown up". Of course, suggestions and critiques are encouraged. Thanks and enjoy!
Aenvidere (the normal weight version) still needs fine-tuning and kerning. That will come, eventually :) At the moment I'm quite busy doing too many things concurrently.
Check the font description for AlexGar-Aenvidere for details.
At a later date I'll publish a squared-off version of this. Aenvidere SQ will have the same glyph style but will be wider than the other versions which might make it less useful as a "tool" to attract attention when added as splash insert in text that uses another Aenvidere version.

A bold, rounded, mono spaced typeface; useful at various scales, I think. Designed primarily for use in English, also useful in French and Spanish. It's functionality in Greek is limitted, only really useful in a display context, or where only Demotic usage is required; not useful in Katharevousa, Koine, Classical, etc. Open Font Liscence, hope it is enjoyable and of use.
This is a cloneEmil has a sympatic character, even if he has his little edges and corners. Nevertheless, Emil is not too eccentric. It' s possible to work with him and maybe Emil will go one step further towards italics...?
Have you ever tried to add more glyphs to a font you haven't touched for months? Cause I always struggle when I try it… Nevertheless, I'll try to add some more characters as soon as I find time and motivation
An old updated idea: overlapping glyphs, and 3D simulation with colours. See also zupra eYe/FS.
By popular demand, I'm very proud to present you this recreation/digitization of Maxim Zhukov's Meander (an experimental modular type design from 1972, which was used in cover artworks for Stereolab's Dots and Loops album and Miss Modular EP).
Now supports Cyrillic characters and includes other custom-made glyphs, like numerals and punctuation marks.

ABOUT THIS FONTSTRUCTION:
TECHNICAL:
Grid: 17 × 16 square grid units (incl. descends, overshoots, accents)
Filter: 2 × 2 brick size
BIO:
The idea was to come up with a friendly chubby fella.
And for all I know I think I have done just that. In the end, it does seem to appear it came out with a slightly bigger forehead than the average (but, no love was lost here, we have come to learn to appreciate the misfits).
Despite its weight and slightly clumsy appearance this juicy Mr. Boogie still got dat funk, and can not wait for it to be the next saturday night.
Even so, when he for once isn't told to "Swing and Boogie" he still is nice to have hanging around. His friendly persona is only to be matched by the ever so nice soft curves. "No sharp edges to detect here".
I can only hope for that all of you come to appreciate him as well! ;-)
(Let's do this in another language as well)
CONCEPT:
The idea was to make a letterform that has a friendly looking design. I tried to achieve this by way of softening all hard convex corners with a smooth rounded curve. And by "all" I litteraly meant, even on all diagonals, accents, thin strokes and stroke tips (Nothing was left untouched).
For all the concave corners, so the negative space (white space) of the letters have multiple solutions depending on what is happening (does it curve, intersect and or wether a stroke continues or not)
The curves all have near hi-res looking (a couple of minute imperfections) but otherwise smooth surfaces, and there are multiple custom created ratios/transitions, such as:
1.5×1.5, 2.5×2.5, 2.5×3, 3×4 (+ The bullet is a 7×7 circular dot)
I hope you like it,
Cheers
(PS: Sample follows soon)
This font is a not too curious case. It comes after trying to prove to myself (with a high percentage of satisfaction, but not quite yet) that FS can allow me to create pro-looking fonts. I am thinking, for example, of zerena, zchreibengroß, zimmera, zenando, zenantoo, zanze, zinckel and others like that. Every time I finish a font that has taken me a long time to complete, I feel the need to look back and do something more relaxed and simple. Thus, without any pretense but feeling fun and friendly, zikiya was born. Hope you like it.
