This font was based on the word ornate. It draws inspiration from neo-classical architecture, tattoos the base outline takes elements from church windows holding the inner detailing which was somewhat inspired by a combination of knit-work and the forms within the glass holding together stain glass windows. The flourishes and filigree forms are a more simplistic take on tattoo lettering. With all this combined I created this typeface to represent my chosen theme of ornate

Fimbriae is apparently irretrievable - so this is the latest incarnation, largely faithful to the original. I'm not yet happy with the V and W, but I need to step back for a while. As always, hints and suggestions are most welcome.

I was a little bit bored, and this is what happened.
The name is because I have no idea what the origin is, and it's a little ugly.

The idea is mimicking the form of bending paper clips. But I find it hard to create smooth round bends. Nevertheless, each alhpabet is formed by one single wire, thus the name implies.

It start with a very simple design of K and R narrow and tall but especialy a rounded end for stem and detach at the connexion.
====================================
I declined the rest. At one point I add carving inside the of O just for fun and found this avenue interesting. So I play with it, even with unusual glyphs like Iijl
====================================
Add some long alternate glyph for more fancy short word or headline

a bit unhappy with Vv any crit are very welcome

Many fellow designers have tried executing this idea. This is my crack on the solution.
All letters are comprised of uniform-sized right-angled isosceles triangles.

I've added a side shadow to Prometheus Regular. The inspiration was a typeface from the French type foundry Peignot. Identified as "No. 1229" in their Lettres Fantaises of 1896, it sports a very fine side shadow, which I've attempted to re-create here. (I found the "No. 1229" sample on Hoefler & Frere-Jones' blog - fifth image from the top.)This is a clone

Yep another blackletter. This is my first font. I Love blackletter and its formal/modular structure seemed an obvious choice for fontstruct. I wanted something kinda simple and stripped back with caps that integrated well and didn't bring too much attention to themselves. That capital N brings attention to itself...

The bulk of this took less than an hour to do. The rest was just tweaks (and me playing Legend of Zelda elsewhere ;-).
With that level of attention paid to it (read: very little), I'm surprised how legible it is at small sizes...and quite a nice cadence to the coming together of letters in words.
PS: Sorry for the burst of sharing and posts. I'm on semester break these days...and just a tad bored. :-)

For now, apart from the provided 'fi' and 'fl' ligatures, all 'f-' and 'ff-' variations - and other alternatives - are within the capitals. More punctuation and to come and and any suggestions for further alternatives welcome.
