This font was designed around the theme word Elegant. I was inspired to create a typeface that was ornate and palatial; it is a ode to Baroque design.
I have tried to emulate columns for the body of the font and created a crowned frieze for some of the letters with decorative toppers for the remaining characters.
This typeface has been inspired by close ups of the body. I began by looking at the patterns in brain scans and vein compositions. I experimented though sketching and multiple attempts in Font Struct, to discover which sizes and shapes would turn out most successful. To try and inform my research I also created a 3D model of my font using pieces of spaghetti, this led me to try and incorporate more organic curves in to my work. This was a challenging process, which I found I could only complete with the straight, horizontal and triangle half squares.

This font is based on the word 'systematic'. I started looking at more digital fonts, for example, the font on your average digital alarm clock, but i moved towards glitches, finding a way to make a glitch font exciting, i looked at glitches in screens but that's been done hundreds of times. I thought about human glitches such as memory loss, i researched alzheimer's and dimentia and got a lot of inspiration from that. Forgetica- a play on words.
Pollute is a font inspired by the theme 'destructive'. The creation of this Fontstruct was influenced by harmful and destructive emissions produced by farming.
The irregular structure of each letter suggests the way in which emissions and gases warp. Although rounded, the edges are sharp, portraying the destructive nature of emissions. The circular blocks, some hollow and some solid, represent the structure of gas. The 3D look I was aiming to produce from the centre of each letter was difficult to create, and therefore my design was limited.
Inspired by the combination of digital code, alien inscription and bold Greek and Russian typography; this font was created with "confident" being the main theme.
The visual features of confidence have been a focal point in the production of this font. Generally, confidence is associated with being bold and comfortable with ones self. But since a font is far from being human, I wanted to specifically focus on the combination of poise and shape.
This typeface is based on the stigma around word ‘unstable’ in relation to mental health. Inspired by artists who deal with mental health issues, specifically looking at Yayoi Kusama and her ‘Dots Obsession’ series in which she recreates hallucinations of repetitive patterns that she sees on her surroundings.
Based on the theme of 'Systematic'. My research led me into compulsions which in turn became developing my own system where I surrendered control and randomly generated a variant of a Triangle, an angle to rotate it to and then a cell it would go into. This would then be removed to create the final letterform. Designed to be a display typeface.
This font is based on mazes and labyrinths that focuses on intricate patterns, shapes, and designs. I looked at mazes found in theme parks and gardens while taking inspiration from films such as 'Maze Runner' and 'Labyrinth' to influence my work.
This fontsruction is based on the theme, systematic. It is inspired by popular early 20th century popular fonts such as 'Prisma' created by Rudolf Koch. Wave takes further inspiration from the methodology of Wim Crouwel and his use of grids and allignment using a dot matrix to create systematic letterform
This is a cloneThis display font was created with the rising sea levels in mind; as David Wallace-Wells says: "Miami and Bangladesh will not survive". It is too late for them. The font is a bold display sans serif with the intention to be used in combination with messages about global warming and rising sea levels. The letters contain structures intended for people which have been submerged underwater, the reality of Atlantis that we will face in the next few years.
This typeface has stemmed from the word ‘unstable’. The adjective mainly holds negative connotations, which is why I explored the dynamic impact of cracks in pavements and how they are unpredictable and disruptive. I also focussed on how the cracks appear as roots when experimenting with font. This brings a more positive light to ‘unstable’, combining both man-made cracks and natural roots to create a font resembling root heave.
This typeface has been designed by taking inspiration from the theme ‘decorative’. I started to explore different aspects of this word which lead me to Moroccan/ Marrakesh tiles, not only are they a key feature of their country but they are also frequently used around the world and with their intricate geometric designs, they are distinctive in design. What drew me to these designs was how there was such an intricate design within a simple shape. Keeping this in mind, I wanted to create a decorative font that portrayed this.
The font was inspired by runic lettering and was taken from the theme unstable. sticks were used as the main shapes to create the typeface, to give this typeface a weak breakable feeling. I wanted to show a balancing act in the type to display the theme and give it a sense of unease.

This is a cloneThe industrial revolution gave rise to mass manufacturing; whereby machinery replaced humans, and production snowballed. Textiles were being produced at a rapid speed and in vast quantity, and it was also a pivotal time for print - with the fist linotype machine being invented at around 1883. Mechanised printing meant that newspapers' expansion paralleled the rising population. 'Strength' is a typeface inspired by the widespread industrialisation. The sans serif and square letterforms are a reference to the vast number of red brick factories being erected - the square shape of the font mirroring the literal building blocks.
Malnutrition can be seen as an epidemic of the 21st century. Not only is Starvation continuing to rise in less economically developed countries; Countries who have the resources to be healthy choose a malnourished lifestyle.
It Is not uncommon to only associate malnutrition with not eating enough substantial food; however, it also extends to eating too much food. Both contribute to the crisis and this is why I wanted to incorporate both obesity and anorexia into my typography.
My typography resembles the stretching of skin as if its being pulled into a new and more desired position. This is a common emotional response to malnourishment and obsessions with weight.
Based on the word: 'Destructive', the 'Beta Build' font is one that resembles a somewhat destroyed buildng. Having the solid chunks of the letters correspond with the steel beam-like structure of the inside sets it as both a work in progress building as well one that is crumbling due to an unforseen man made or natural disaster.

I looked into the imagery within the chinese military, looking at how the ordering and the syncronisity created an almost optical illusion effect. Because of this the military force looks more powerful than it may actually be, which is something I was intrested in capturing in my font. The typeface is rigid, geometric, and sans-serif.
This is a clone of Formation QB (first draft)This is my first FontStruction while currently studying graphic design at Bristol UWE. This font was born from the theme of ‘hope’ and that we are hopefull for the future. I looked at lots of different material for insperation, inculding film posters, furteristic clothing and computer games.
This is a collection of letters that represent the internet after choosing ‘Community’ as one of our three word choices. The bars coming off of the letters are to be seen as WiFi signals to go with the context of being on the internet.
This font was based on the theme “Hope”. It was inspired by spray painted protests and the textures and inconsistency of hand-painted placards. Seeing people standing together, holding their placards high created a sense of hope that change and reforms could be made to create a more just and equal society.
This is a cloneInspired by the idea of how newspapers are printed to protect us, I've created my first fontstruction for the start of my UWE graphic design course. I drew the letters by hand using black ink and a quill that sort of created this idea of the ink that is used in newspapers. Therefore, creating this abstract font design.
My design was influenced by walls, barriers, and the requirement for a division between our built and natural environments in order to protect us. I am a first-year student at UWE Bristol studying Graphic Design, and I made this digital typeface in response to this year's subject, "PROTECT."
A block, graffiti inspired, font with sprays of imperfection and an urban aesthetic. The letters are structured equal in width and length and are all designed in capital. The graphic elements both inside and outside the typeface enhance a "technologically programmed" (pixelated) feel to the overall font.
Catclaw was inspired by my cat Meow mix's claws, and arabic indic numerals. This font has two meanings; one being that the shapes of the letters look like cat claws, and the other relfecting off of cats attitude in general. Crazy, wild, and independant beings.

Thats what I thought seeing the letter A from a certain font. This font started with the A, the biggest thing I wanted to keep in this font was that fat stroke at the top of each letter. Its not a pretty picture, its not perfectly geometric and nearly every character looks kinda funny.
5HEAD is arguably the most top heavy font ever made; its thick, its nasty, something about it is obscene. When originally sketched, it was a clean and smooth 70s esc font - once put through Fontstruct its become a futuristic, isometric mess. Enjoy.
Main inspirations are the font Baveuse as well as a poster from Pearljam (Dismemberment Plan).
This font was created around the theme of repetition, it was inspired by Art Deco design and how repetition and pattern aren't just pointless ornaments but fundamental to the structure of the font. I have been able to reach this stage after 5 weeks of continuous development, sketching and experimentation which I focused around trying to create a bridge between 2D and 3D fonts.
